I want to replace a knackered battery. My question is what will the digi tacho or the truck computer for that matter, do after a disconnect and reconnect to power supply?

i wouldnt change 1 battery mate, best to change as a pair
Yes, changing the pair. One batt has 10v so a cell prob gone but yeah, best to just put a fresh pair in. Already have the replacements, just not sure what the tacho will do. Might just be a power interrupt which you can ok and bring the, possibly 1min, lost time back by adjusting the time.

Yeah it’ll just come up power interruption but I think the tachograph is backed up by its own battery anyway cos it never alters the time when you reconnect batteries. Just remember to re set night heater clock aswell and you’re fit to go.

tacho has a back up battery, it will be fine
When it comes up with power interruption just push ok to clear.
Has your radio got a security code?
Turns out no. Fortunately got the original manuals and found the code but it must have been disabled anyway. Did it that afternoon and now have a much healthier sounding truck. Yes tacho has its own back up battery I now know which is apparently changed at recalibration every 2 years.
Planning to change the radio with a nice new dab one with aux in on the front, or even bluetooth. Ipod with bluetooth and a compatible stereo is great. No cables to faff about with.
Anyway, at least now it starts reliably!
get the aerial booster on ebay makes your standard aerial into a dab well worth the £20 or so
