They lost the case for a ban ,but now with the road slippage repairs postponed to the Autumn on the A36 from Brassknocker Hill to Bathampton.
The road closure will last for 3 months.
They will monitor Lgv traffic in the area and prepare a report to ban trucks using Bath.
At the moment the transit route is by the fire and ambulance station to join the Lower Bristol Road to get to the other side of the city to join the Keynsham bypass and Bristol ring road.
If they get their way,it will be a ban on the bridge by the fire station.
The Lgv route will be Westbury,Chippenham to the M4,which is long way round.
For Southampton to Bristol,the advice would be the A34 to the M4.
Trucks are allowed to use the road to Canal Road Industrial estate to Staverton to bypass the 18 ton weight limit at Bradford on Avon.You go past the old Nestle factory over the river.
