It’s an utter sheethole, if you are northbound go up a couple of junctions to J59, £7.00 to park, a security guy patrols all night and is really on the ball, there is a subway and a small cafe with limited seating and a McDonald’s on site , also lovely clean modern showers as well.
…or head to Chesnut Street, Darlington. Free lorry parking on the large car park, and a 5 min walk to shops & pubs. Wetherspoons in the town centre (less than 10 mins walk) or Morrissons is about 10 mins walk the other way!
