that looks really smart joe, cant beat the old fodens

They were a good motor, i drove L95 AVC from new and it was a crackin motor, no more Fodens now though, we run mostly Volvos on the tipper fleet.

Smart wagon, but the body looks to be rather clumsy looking to be on black? (High sides)

Remember a lad this way on having such a body on an ERF back in the mid 80s and it was an ex corn tipper.
Set it off on quarry work and second load he was directed to the tar plant despite it having no insulation. (Due to a major surfacing job locally)
It was a bit tricky tipping for long periods (body in the air and being pushed by the Barber Green) but he made do that day.
Had a couple of days away whilst the body was cut down slightly and tin slapped on the sides and when it was back it was spot on for the job.

Hi BD, its not to bad on the machine jobs, its got the split tailboard as normal, here’s a pic on the machine

Superb pic mate! Like seeing insulated tippers loading and tipping on the black job!
Mind if I ask why you specced high sides on the body? Is it in case you go on fly ash?

We never had that one from new, previous owner did a bit of coal in the winter when the quarry work was quiet

Cheers Joe

One of the Stonemarket contract lorries

One of the only XF we had

I let this one of Neils’ in the queue at a busy Gill Mill this afternoon; I needed to “use” some time up before going out with my last load

One of those fleets I have always seemed to photograph - Truckfest and CCMV mid 90’s (sorry for the indifferent quality - must do a better scan of the negs again)

Right up until the retro show a couple of weeks back
