I’m loading for barnard castle, durham for glaxo’s. my idiot satnav looks like the factory is in the town centre?
any advice as to where glaxo is would be most welcome and any idea about parking before i get to or very near barnard castle would also be a great help,
thanks in advance, WBIS
Factories do occur in the middle of towns, McBrides at Burnley and Middleton are prime examples. Most likely the office pillock has given you the office address and post code. I had the Coop at Eccleshall with a Stafford town centre post code. Great Joy!
its on harmine rd pal the factory you need the B6278 is the road its on
Here u go WBIS. According to my friendly TM, Mr.Google. GSK is on the B6278. Harmire road.
Post code.DL12 8DT. If you want to give them a bell to check the on-site parking.
01833 638 926 or 01833 690 600. It seems to be ( again looking at Google Pics) that it is in an area which has a couple of Industrial Estates. So parking should not be a big problem. Hope this helps.
ps. It is a 60 acre site, so you,ll have a job missing it.
I think you need to come into Barnard castle from the north as there is a weight limit if you come from the A66 , parking wise you could stop at quernhow which will put you less than an hour away , barton park truck stop just after scotch corner which is closer still , apart from that it will be just layby’s.

Isnt the HGV friendly route to Barnard Castle signposted from the A66 ■■ road sends you via Greta Bridge i think but i
d definitely agree with you on the parking side of things
Yes russjp i think your right , i think you head onto the a67 , if you carried on the next way into barny is the weight limit
There is parking at the A167 behind the jet garage there are also facility there depending on the time of day you are there but garage is open al night you can get to Barnard Castle on the A689 just off the A1M & yes there are a few industrial est there also a new ish ring road round

It is, and then once you get into the town centre, turn right at the small roundabout with the monument on it,and then you need to head towards Bishop Auckland on the A67, and the B6278 comes up on your left at the edge of town, GSK is along there about half a mile on your right.
Ken.
just passed glaxo on the left is harmire ind est, plenty of space to park on there.
thanks for the replies I’ve got Harmire Rd. but a different postcode but I think I’ll rely on some info off here as the B6278 seems to be the same road.
if coming up the A1 where is this quernhow or barton park truckstop? are they open for the weekend? i don’t mind paying as long as i get fed and showered
Quernhow not open at the weekend now Barton Park is sing posted off the A1 just past Scotch Corner not sure if open on weekend but if you go a little further to j 59 i think for Newton Aycliffe there is a jet garage in there park behind that the trailer does some decent grub at decent prices ask in there bout showers ( sorry never needed to as bit close to home for me )
Hi Welshboy , The quernhow is on the left on the A1 , literally at the side of the road , when coming north past the a19 turn you will enter roadworks with a 50 zone that last about 15 mile its about halfway in , and barton park head north on a1 past a66 turn (scotch corner) take next exit down sliproad to roundabout and turn right to truckstop , quernhow is 24hrs during week , not sure about weekend , and would imagine barton closes saturday afternoon till monday

Not quite was thinking more like a “premier inn”
I would come off at Barton down to Piercebridge and across the A67 through Gainford. All good straight roads, then Glaxo is 1st right after the mini roundabout signposted Middleton in Teesdale and High Force. Loads of Parking around Glaxo I would think. (Too close to home and my bed for me to know for sure )
