As above has anybody any pictures of units from Barber’s European, who was based in Stiring and did regular runs to France in the 80’s ?

Is Barbour European a subbie for Giraud or is it one company with 2 divisions etc ?
Often seen these about and wondered what the relationship is between the companies

Giraud took Barbour’s over about 10 years ago I think you’ll find.

I was working at Prince’s at the time but don’t remember the driver of the unit…less said about the driver of our wrecker!
A 290 with the usual engine liner seat fault (water leak) that Drunken Stupour did not want repaired here but preferred at his local dealer, hence the need to piggy back on one of their flat trailers.
Must of been challenging? 
Any way, still looking for photos if anyone has any?

Hi, Yes spotted them other night, was it your dads motors?
Did they have owner drivers at Barbours?
Drivers using their own units and not in Barbour livery?

Think theres one of my dad s unit in there.All the pics were loaned to me by willie munro who only stopped driving for them cpl of yrs ago due to an accident in france.Not sure if they used subbies back then.

barbour belongs to Geodis now but is still run on its own
about early 80’s time was the drivers self employed or employed by Barbours?
