Bank Australia has just announced that it’s ceasing giving out loans to buy petrol, diesel or PHEV cars from 2025 And with all banks struggling to address their NetZero commitments I wonder how long it will take other banks to follow suit! savings.com.au/news/bank-au … -car-loans
Go woke go broke, good, let the banks self destruct, the sooner people stop paying interest to the obscenely rich to buy things that depreciate on an express scale the better off they will be.
The more they push this electric car scam only confirms that i’ll never have one, nothing against the things in principle just don’t want one myself, as they did with the recent covid scam the more coercion they apply the more of us will say no.

This ^^^^ multiplied by a thousand!
Try to persuade me by all means. Make thinly veiled threats as to how bad and difficult my life will become if I don’t acquiesce then I’m afraid all bets are off
The banks never lose. They will have calculated, by adopting this stance, how many customers they will lose and how many they will gain.
Housing loans are the foundation of bank lending, the collateral is an appreciating asset on a thirty year income stream.
The latest policy is to attract young home buyers, to whom these things are important.
Banks are currently making record profits, even during the GFC, when other businesses were failing, the banks were doing very well.
They didn’t do so well around 2008 re the unburstable housing price con, but like the govt and all public funded things their fiends in govt just took more money from the taxpayer to prop the whole ponzi scheme up.
So no, they can’t lose even if they fail.
Didn’t Iceland go about this somewhat differently and allowed those institutions that were profligate to rightly go to the wall.

Most definitely, if the gullible woke want to buy EV’s (or more likely have one as a low tax liability company car, good for the Planet that!) carry on, it’s a disgrace that forcing the change means banning ICE vehicles thus not having a choice, but I reckon my 2 Mercedes Benz petrol engine cars will see the rest of my driving days out so ■■■■ ‘em.
Bank Australia is an insignificant little bank that more than half the population would have never heard of.
I must admit that I moved over here 23 years ago, and I have never heard of Bank Australia, until I came across this post.
