Do Hugely Expensive Services still do the “Dancing Diggers”? Also do they still have that white souped up 3CX on their roof?

Hiya… have you seen the JCB dragster something like a 7 litre V8…0-60 mph 4 seconds

Did he have a barrel of “red” in the front bucket like we used to do?

Couple of old car tyres attached to the legs.

Why do they do that? Do the legs not just poke though the hole?

The feet drop down onto the tyres to protect the road surface. Haven’t seen it done for ages though.

you can but streetpads now
ebay.co.uk/itm/JCB-PARTS-3CX … 48577ab257

very good and last although they could make the foot the same shape all the way around so you could reverse them as they always wear on the edge
still have two tyres for in the front buckets though

I love this one.
I want one.

Well, as far as I know we regularly send machines to Turkey by road, we buy castings for Engines, Gearboxes and Axles from Turkey and I think these are return loads. Even with Hydrema making competitive Backhoes and Excavators there it is a big Market approx 4,000 Backhoes a year find homes there.
We had some Russian Trucks in once collecting machines but they are rare.
We trucked our test machines for cold climate testing in the Arctic Circle in 93, Brand new ERF EC10? But now we ship to Port and then Port to Rovaniemi.

We have The following Factories producing the following products. Foreign factories, with the exception of Savannah, do not supply Europe, only their own territories.

Rocester, UK - Backhoe, Loadall
Uttoxeter, UK - Excavators
Rugeley, UK - Cabs for Group Products
Cheadle, UK - Fastrac, Shovels, Dumptrucks, Compact Excavators, RTFL, Groundhog, Teletruck
Wrexham, UK - Axles and Gearboxes for Group Products
Foston, UK - Engines for Group Products
Gatersleben, Germany - Vibratory Rollers and Compactors
Savannah, USA - Skid Steer and Tracked Compact Loaders (also Volvo badged SSL/CTL), HMEE
Sorocaba, Brazil, - Backhoe, Excavators, Vibratory Rollers
Shanghai, China - Excavators, Compact Excavators
Ballabgarh, India - Backhoe, Skid Steer Loaders, Generator Sets, Liftall Mobile Cranes
Ballabgarh, India - Engines, Gearboxes, Axles for Indian Products
Pune, India - Excavators, Shovels, Compact Excavators, Vibratory Rollers and Compactors
Pune, India - Fabrications for Group Products
Jaipur, India - On stream Mid 2014 to produce RTFL and Skid Steer Loaders and more.

Yep, we still have the GT, I am not sure what engine is in it now but I will find out. There are 2 currently. 1 in the UK and 1 in the US.

Why don’t they handle the international transport themselves?

shame the 3cx eco is such a pile of ■■■■■ , volvo BL71 will wipe the floor with a jake now

What’s the 3CX Eco all about? A bit like the “Blue Angel” Cat machines of a few years ago?
What engines go into JCBs nowadays? I know it used to be Perkins.
Hydrema, God did I hate driving their dumptrucks.

If it is such a pile of ■■■■ then how come there are 70 3CX and 4CX machines coming out of Rocester each day and 110 coming out of Ballabgarh? BL71 are rarer than a Forest fan when they’ve not won for a week or 2 and drink like Oliver Reed.

ECO on Backhoes have 3 smaller hydraulic pumps instead of 2 larger ones, one of which can be isolated. The 2 that remain operate at the sweet spot of the engine.

We make our own 4 and 6 Cylinder Engines now, these go into the majority of our products. We’ve just launched the 212kW 6 Cylinder in the JS330 and JS360 excavators, replacing the Isuzu 6HK. Large Shovels, Fastrac and HMEE use ■■■■■■■■ Fastrac also use a SISU/Valtra Engine and Large Shovels also use a Mercedes derived MTU.

Ever heard of the JCB Dieselmax World Land Speed Record Holder? 351mph?

Talking of Excavators, I loved those old 812s (dug like ■■■■ but bounced you about if you weren’t sat level  ) and the early JS models were brilliant machines to train operators on.

I like the Hydrema dump trucks, moved one today in fact. We had a customer who had a pair of 4cx stolen and bought a pair of ex MOD Hydrema artic steer backhoes, jeez were they bloody awful things.

because they are still selling off the good name they have ,and you cannot fault JCB,s marketing ,but the machines are now sadly lacking

i mean who designed a cab roof that lets the water dribble constantly over the windscreen leaving stains on it all the time
my 2011 3cx had jcb brand tyres that did not make 500 hrs due to the splitting around the tread that is well know
rear diff at 400 hrs also front prop shaft as the road noise was /is horrendous never cured
awful hydraulics from that 3 pump set up (now dropped) that cannot flow share
terrible pipe routing and substandard hoses that has lead to 10 hoses in 3000hrs
levers that leave you with arms like popeye at the end of the day
door hinge covers that may stay on for 200hrs along with the rear wiper motor cover

the list is endless JCB really need to up their game and start building a world leading backhoe again instead of resting on their laurels

the 3rd pump cuts in when in the green band ,under or over and it cuts out ,two large trans driven pumps and one small engine driven one
now dropped in favour of a variable displacement pump like the volvo has

the 444 engine is not too bad in my experience exhaust manifold gaskets are common ,but other than that not bad
perkins were dropped as ,well CAT own them

this was mine ,one of 6 lynch plant gave back with 200-400hrs on them ,wonder why :unamused:
you can see the door hinge covers hanging off

sumitomo jcb joint venture is the reason for that

is there any reason why mesh is used for the sun blind on tele handlers amongst other stuff? it’s just that it doesn’t blind out the sun

The teletruk is a genuinely innovative product that I’m surprised isn’t more popular than it appears.
