I see JeffA is still choosing to ignore the posts from people with real life examples as evidence, instead he just keeps banging on about France and burying his head in the sand about what goes on in this country.

And this surprises you? Not so much Citizen Smith, but much more WH Smith methinks.

I think even that’s being generous.

Why do you have to name call all the time? We’re only talking about benefits on a messageboard, why get so snotty? We just have different views - that’s what makes the world go round. No need to hate everyone who disagrees with you.

If you are addressing me I can assure you that I have no hatred whatsoever for you. I welcome discussion and disagreement. If I had to apportion an emotion towards you it would be if anything ambivalence, certainly not hatred.

Eh? I’m the only one who has provided any real world examples.
.

No you ain’t,. I’ve provided 2 that you seem to have this mental block in believing for some only known to yourself reason…is it a socialist Labour thing?

We should all live in Jeffworld where there are no scroungers in the country, everyone is above board, and everybody on the dole is providing for their families on the famous 85 quid.
Yep,.that’s it,.I’m sold, and my own personal experience was all a dream.
Getting a bit boring now in fact, time to knock it on the head from me.

Why does the idea of “scroungers” bother you so much? Why not get mad at the fact that pay is so low people can’t afford to live? Wages have been deliberately brought down to their lowest level over the last 40 years - in the 70s if you had a job you could buy a house and afford to live.

You didn’t give much of an idea of your personal experience tho did you - if you’d claimed dole you could’ve told us - like I do - exactly what you got. Instead you gave us the old "If only I’dve signed on, I’dve got a pair of gold slippers and a night with Carole Vorderman on a weekly basis (you have to be a real professional to know how to claim a night with Carole Vorderman on the dole - that’s only for the expert scroungers)

Allegedly our Carole had a string of suitors on the go at the same time, about 8 I believe.

If you are addressing me I can assure you that I have no hatred whatsoever for you. I welcome discussion and disagreement. If I had to apportion an emotion towards you it would be if anything ambivalence, certainly not hatred.

So why the aggression? Why bother calling me names? We’re just disagreeing on a messageboard - nothing to get angry about. Do you have to dislike someone who disagrees with you?

All under 25 as well!

I’ve already addressed that. There’s no aggression from me. Do you seek justification somehow? Do you want to be offended? You’re attempting to defend the indefensible tbh so I can see why you’re desperately flailing around trying to deflect from your (non) argument.

I guess the irony of you complaining about name calling when you have been calling me a curtain twitcher is lost on you, especially when you consider you were continually ignoring both my real life experiences and other’s in a discussion you were clearly deluded on.

Bit of a stupid thing to say,.it’s a bit like saying ‘why do you hate Man Utd, why not get mad with Man City.’ :unamused:

I ain’t limited to disapproving (or hating) one issue, in fact I fully agree with a lot of what you say,.and I recognise the points that you make.
Where as you (and only you alone from what I hear of public opinion) are in denial that the social system is full of scroungers and freeloaders.

To answer your question …It grieves me to know that the tax I reluctantly have paid since I was a kid is going to finance the lifestyle of a large proportion of low life who have contributed nothing,.and have no intention of doing so…but hey,.it’s all a figment of my imagination.

Maybe I didn’t give a full rundown or itinerary of all the benefits I got at the short time I was entitled, it was in the early 90s ffs, all I remember is going to the dole office and being told that my predicament and profile fitted the bill for getting everything paid for.,.and that in essence I had no real need to seek.work,.as we were virtually better off not doing so …but not including your poor snd feeble attempt at humour and satire involving Carole Vorderman or a pair of ■■■■ slippers btw. :unamused:

I dont know what more I can say to you, about this, I only posted this reply because you personally addressed me on it,.I was done with it.

So…let’s agree to differ I’ll continue seeing things in the REAL world of habitual scroungers and bogus asylum seekers,.and you carry on with your socialist nirvanic Jeffworld…cheers.

So why do you just keep up with the endless name calling?

Do you even know how to debate without calling someone names? Why are you so offended when someone dares to disagree with you?

The question is why you judge millions of people claiming benefits as “scroungers”. Maybe the 2 or 3 that you personally know - I’d give you that. But not “millions”. The only research done on “millions” is that fraud is practically non-existent - down in the 1-2% level. More money is unclaimed than lost in fraud.

The dole told you you don’t have to work? Come off it. And if they did then things have changed an awful lot since the early 90s. You wouldn’t believe it nowadays. Maybe 40 years ago you could get benefits a little easier - but don’t tell me it was a fortune cos I remember claiming dole in 1988 and I got £54 a week. Are you really saying you were over the moon with £54 a week? You thought that was a lot of money? No need to ever go back to work eh? Don’t worry about me - I’m just going to sit here forever on my £54 a week - I’m loaded.

The only people on here who have claimed dole in the last 5-10 years - I got £85 a week (yeah I know - it’s a fortune!!) and bone shaker was sat in a classroom all day passing round one newspaper and told if he left that was his benefits cut.

Endless name calling? There is no substance to that, which strangely matches your argument, no substance. Over and over you’ve been given examples by different posters yet you cling to your delusional mindset that there are perhaps one or two scammers in the country.

To reiterate; just because you personally don’t know how to play benefit bingo does not preclude many many others from being able to make a comfortable living from doing it.

And once again I’ll repeat in order not to give you the opportunity to claim I’m bullying/name calling; there is absolutely no shame in NOT being equipped to play the system.

Is that your idea of a friendly post? Really? Theres no anger seething eh?

Ive said 10 times that all research shows fraud is near non-existent.

Why would it be a friendly post? I’m not your friend, you’re not mine and I imagine that we’d dislike each other immensely if we met. It was however a civil post pointing out the failings in your argument to which you responded with your usual deflection tactics whenever your argument is shown to be flawed.

@Jeff.
You are right of course the dole people did not tell me I’d need not look for work, :unamused: …it was my misleading way I formed the sentence,.and my poor grammar…
They did however tell me I fitted the criteria for this that and the other, in terms of benefits,. and .gave me a mass of forms to fill in to claim…and I’ve told you the rest.

Seriously mate…dont ask me owt else on this, I really CBA with whatever political agenda you may or may not have, or point you are e endlessly labouring …no pun intended.

He’s like Carryfast 2.0!

Why would you arrange a system where the people on benefits get rich? If you can make £850 a week on benefits nobody would go to work would they? I certainly wouldn’t. If I could even survive for a month on benefits I might think of a month off every year - but what you get is so low that’s not even possible.

If there really was a secret benefits system giving people a fortune there would be complete economic collapse as everyone would stop going to work. Y’follow?

(And FFS don’t tell me for the 90th time that “You have to know the secret password to get the higher benefits - normal people don’t get them”)

JeffA:

And millions of people in this country choose to do exactly that, largely because Blair made benefits a career choice that people could take up and the flawed system allows them to keep doing it. Yeah, yeah, yeah we all know you only got £85 a week and in France they get 2/3’s of their salary paid … yawn! :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Welcome to the Priority Benefits Application Server.
What would you like to claim for?

jeffa : you dont understand , the example of 850 is an example of wot benefits are available to claim for as theirs many to get

Anover examples is - a working man pay all his bills , not on any benefit , he hav big house and childrens and to run the house and pay bills and mortgage is 850

he is paying that money himself

if he was out of work, have disabling factors including his wife and children , his house rent and council tax will be paid by the dwp and receive more money for a plethora of other benefits so the wording of that is he is on 850 as same thing because he is not paying out which he would be if he was working as no benefits if earning too much or have savings of £6000 or more

As he cant afford the mortgage as no job , the dwp do not pay mortgage but do pay rent

I don’t know how much people get in benefits but I no 3 people who claim 1 I went to school with so he’s 61 and has never worked because he doesn’t want to 2nd one is my sister she’s 58 got married when she was 20 and divorced at 40 and has lived on benefits for the last 17 year’s I don’t know how much they get but do know they get rent paid and although they don’t have money for cars and holidays they never seem short. The 3rd one is 44 and got laid off 13 years ago and has lived on benefits ever since and she also has a 2nd home she rents out
