Booked off tonight, and suddenlly got a flashback to the 80s, (my owner driver days… when I was a bigger cowboy than John Wayne…anything goes, anything went in those days.
16 hours 45 minutes driving time today …a good shift eh?
Had 9 off last night…(a rarity in it’s self) up this morning sorting myself out, pressed what I thought was the ‘OK’ button on tacho to light it up and check the time, pressed the 'Driver 1’button with my sausage fingers by mistake, then hurriedlly pressed it back…or tried to, too late I had booked on at 8 hours 57…so consequently yesterdays driving time continued today.
Got 2 hours down the road dashboard readout telling me my driving time ‘‘was up’’.
Anyhoo did the usual printout stuff, and rang the office, so no dramas.
That’s my defence anyhow.
Just thought the 16 + hours looked good.
Quite frankly I’m not impressed with your cavalier attitude to this blatant wuckfittery! You’re supposed to be a grown up and a role model for young and aspiring drivers! It’s simply not good enough.
If I manage to beat the man with every major police force on speed dial I’ll just say that THIS is exactly why DCPC courses are such an invaluable tool in our armoury!
May I suggest that next time you attend one you endeavour to stay awake?
He’s on the way to Oz to lecture the Australian government and transport ministers how to do their job, first class ticket on a Qantas Airbus A380 on a one way ticket.
To be fair you completely lost me at pressing the/an OK button.I don’t remember that on a Kienzle or a Veeder Root. Also other strange stuff I hear about cards and a card slot and print outs.
