Back on the continent after 10 years?

so im going back over the water after 10 years going to the usual countrys benelux germany italy spain any new rules tips ,is the german road tax easy to do any help would be appreciated

german tax is not too bad, best advise on that one is buy a good german map with junction names on it and make sure its the very latest as some more roads heve been recently added. if your not sure if there is a terminal close to junctoin your coming off may pay you to get it from that junction to nearest autohoff or services from when you think you may need to join motorway again most shell and aral garages heve a terminal .

Just beware, the machine does have an English language selection but once you go to pay by card there’s no English option so your German will need to be up to speed!!

Good luck.

Ross.

You forgot one.
Belgium. No overtaking on 2 lane motorways or duals, unless signs say you can.
(That’s most of the E411 to Lux’ then ! )

This one particular law used to really get on my nerves when it was brought in, until that time Belgium was a relatively care free drive. You can almost put money down that once on a two dual within minutes you’d be stuck behind a tanker doing 80km/h (usually French registered) who’d do his best to speed up and keep you in lane two when you get so fed up and chanced an over take. I never got done for over taking in Belgium but had a few close calls and once got over taken by and had a finger waggled at me by the Belgian customs for having the audacity to over take a slow coach.

anything going at your place i was driving in europe last year and loved it but money was’nt very clever so ive been working over here in mansfield earning more money and home every weekend nearly but would like to get back on the european scene
