B3335 Eastleigh Hampshire

The other day I went along this road and came to a railway bridge. I approached from the east, when I got there I found a low bridge which hadn’t been signed earlier along the road. I think the height sign was showing 12’1’'.

From all the places I have looked to check this I have founded it listed at 13’. The sources include google street view, Snooper sat nav and the philips truckers atlas.

I am now beginning to doubt my eyes and memory. Does anyone use this road or know the actual height that can put me out of my misery?

Cheers.

Don’t know it myself but Street view has it as 13’ 0 going e-w and 12’ 1 going the other way.
Could be to do with the slope approaching the 12’ 1 side looks steeper and shorter than the other side.
Note the name of the road, Highbridge road !

I did check that and had a chuckle to myself.

From street view it appears 13’ both sides. Where are you looking?

On the west side theres a blue and red hoarding.
In front there’s a sign buried in the hedge saying 12’ 1. It’s also on the bridge.
edit, the bridge says 13’ 0 !
edit again, on the east side, though the bridge says 13’0 theres also a 12’ 1 sign on the road attached to the 30 sign.

Confused.

Ive emailed the council for a definative answer.

There is an approach sign from the East but it is miles up the road, at the top of “Brambridge” road. There, it is marked as 14’. The trouble is that there is nowhere (other than private drives) to turn between there and the bridge, hence no signs in the middle.

The other funny thing is that if you look at the junction between B3335 and Brambridge on street view there is a truck indicating left, about to pass the sign. Reckon he is just ok for 13’ (though tight) but if I was in that and saw a 12’1 sign I’d panic a bit!
