B3274 St Austell

Anyone advise if you can get down to the A390 using the B3274 at 44t / 16’?

The tight bend looks a bit of a challenge on Google Street view, especially going north.

Thx.

Can you…

Be a little more precise please.

Which corner where? Ok, I’m sat at home but I can have a look…

Don’t recall much about it, but it looks like I’ve come across it before.
I usually write little notes to myself on my map for future reference…and this is what I found when I looked.

So looking at that I’d avoid it if I were you.

I maybe got around it at the time ok eventually, as I do not recall getting stuck there, but it’s your call mate.

Shock horror to some eh?..I don’t rely on sat nav alone. :open_mouth:

Do it all the time, It’s a bit tight especially the last part as you approach the a391 but it’s actually the route ASDA deckers take to avoid going back through bugle.

Thanks for the posts. To me on street view it looked like it would be better with traffic lights as I’d imagine needing most of the road.

Though going back some I think that was the a391 in the 90’s?

Do you stick with it after the roundabout for Bugle into town, under the viaduct?

We usually come in by the Aldi store but looks like Clifden road is closed next week for 4 weeks.

What are you trying to say exactly ?

Anyhoo if the other guy says it’s fine then crack on, he obviously knows more about it than me .
It looks as if I’ve only done it once,.and as I say I don’t recall much about it…if I HAD got stuck I would have wrote it down, but I have just put ‘avoid’ so up to you mate…Let us know how you got on.

No we normally pick up the a391 into town then turn off the round about at the print works (treverbyn rd) then just follow down past Aldi.

It might be the only way in to go down under the viaduct if clifden rd is closed.
Looking at it on street view it looks ok, 1 hairpin bend but nothing else.

I know drivers that have gone under that bridge near Tesco with a decker but I wouldn’t be risking it!

Where are you actually trying to get to?

I think your map notes are probably bang on. Drover’s initial green light was further up to go through Roche over Bugle. Here is google street view, going from left to right up hill I could imagine having to be on the wrong side of the road before the bend starts perhaps.

Would be the DIY shop on the next roundabout west from Asda. It’s quite possible that it won’t even fall to me anyway, but as I’m aware of it now feel like I ought to look for options for whoever does should they need it.

I do on occasion come in from Truro, so that would be fine but a bit of a detour both ways if I don’t also have anything that side.

The council show a lorry detour on the website I’ve found- dark blue is cars only, blue and white is listed as lorry diversion route.

I see thanks to google and local press that someone has already done a recce through Trewoon a few years back.

Thats pretty straight foward then just B3274 onto A391, pick up treverbyn rd, right at lights by Aldi gets you onto the council diversion happy days
