It’s highly likely to have been one of the trucks from the Swindon depot, and being a Volvo I recon it’ll be one of the new generation gas trucks that been trashed.
Swindon took over the deliveries to the Essex store from the Doncaster and Worksop depots, as they previously did the deliveries to Braintree, Colchester, Clacton and Chelmsford. But due to delays on the A14 the northern drivers would end up maxing out.

I don’t think it’s a Volvo Pierre looks like Merc to me. Not sign written, no illuminated panel above the windscreen, could have been photo shopped but the trailer hasn’t been altered so possibly a hired unit or as suggested above a contractor.

From images I’ve seen on FB showing the front grill of the truck after they pulled it away from the house it’s definitely a Volvo, iirc there wasn’t any mercs on the fleet at Swindon the last time I looked (very recently), an odd Renault on hire but most of them are either Scania or Volvo Gas trucks.
Edit: The only other possibility is that it’s a diesel Volvo from Doncaster as some of theirs are unmarked

There isn’t a B and Q in Harlow.

According to their website there is: B&Q Harlow | Store details | DIY at B&Q, even has Christmas opening hours so don’t think it’s closed down.

Doesn’t look like one of their units either so I’m guessing some outside haulier might be doing a little less work for them.

Local news said truck was operated by Wincantons.

Wincanton run the Swindon transport operation,

Has Swindon still got that rolled Volvo unit in the yard surrounded by barriers and a big sign next to it ?

It’s been about 2 weeks since I was there but don’t recall seeing it, all the dehired trucks (Diesel Volvos) that the gas trucks replaced where parked up next to the lagoon have now gone, they had a few spot hires back then inc a Renault T cab & iirc a merc, but it’s predominantly Scanias and Volvos in the Swindon yard. As for subbies I’ve only seen the odd Scania pulling orange trailers

I’m scratching my head how the truck seems to have driven around the traffic island top right on the wrong side of the road, avoided wiping out the lamp post, and then careened into the house on th left…

Could a driver have possibly mistaken that slanting footpath with a layby in a state of tiredness, and critical for a legal break?

The Elizabeth Way there - is the main road OUT of the industrial estate, for those of you who don’t know the area…

A spokeswoman for the DIY firm said: “B&Q and Wincanton, our fleet operators, are co-operating fully with the police to understand what happened.”

There are 26 letters in the alphabet. There are 6 letters in Harlow.
None are B nor Q.

Yes, I was a bit slow - early in the morning.

I’m pretty sure it’s a subbie as none of B&Qs units have air horns and the vast majority are signwritten.

XPO definitely run the transport out of Swindon, also the northern RDCs, Wincanton run the Swindon warehouse, not too sure who runs the Northern ones.

Wincanton run the Doncaster and Worksop warehouses.

I’m not gonna go into too much detail but there’s a limp in an Aldi carrier bag belonging to me hung up in the transport office waiting for me to return after Christmas

If John is still the driver/assessor please wish him Happy Christmas from me.

(I was so busy chatting to him I drove over the roundabout near the Renault building…bloody idiot that I am)
