Cliff if your sat in the sunshine you have evaporated cos I cant see you.I have just come back from Poole hospital after seeing Dumper.He still tries to make light of his third heart attack but I know he is worried.I will keep you posted.Cheers mate

What a lot of people don’t realise, is that if Cliff’s trailer had it’s side or rear doors open it usually meant that he was off duty and ready to entertain. His hospitality was second to none. That empty trailer probably had a few pallets drawn up for sitting on, some decent wine on tap and Cliff’s unparalleled cooking sending fragrant wafts into the atmosphere.

It didn’t matter where you were: North Africa, Spain, France… Cliff would include you in his brilliant version of the good life. I’ve heard that his hostelry in the south west reflects this. God bless him! Robert

Thank you for those kind words Robert in those day’s travelling in Europe did most of my eating in restaurants.We did have some good cook ups in Morroco though, it was easy with so much time on our hands and the help of a fridge in the cab and freezer in the food box on the side of the unit. Those little F86s were dead reliable little motors in rigid form,dont know about in artic form as they
must have been working flat out all the time. My grandad had a 6 wheeler that was bullet proof !

I might need to be corrected here but I think this was the last village you went through in France before going over Mont Cenis I await your reply.

Cliff was that Lanselbourg ? but it is a long time ago, miss those days so much, talking to one of our drivers in the yard yesterday he said if I went now I just would not recognise the route that takes you to Italy today, how times change. Thinking out loud next year it is 30 years ago I bought my first new truck Globetrotter C789 BPO wish I still had her today Buzzer.
