if for example you went through a 40 zone at 38 but between the last 2 cameras you crept up tp say 44 just for a cpl of mins then got back to 40 would you be ok ?Over the years I’ve run through loads of a.s.c over the limit purely by forgetting there there( normally early hours and I’m tired), I’ve never had a ticket yet and a regular cammera I did this on was a s/c 40 mph limit and I was on the limiter ,56 ish,so I’d not worry, the chances are about.00000001%
Thing is can the ANPR system be used identity the type of vehicle, unlike some fixed cameras?
They could easily do that. They are linked to a national database which pulls al the vehicle information.
So it could have a database entry for the type of vehicle and from there is could also be programmed to check the speed limit for that vehicle type and then run a command to compare the recorded speed with the speed limit for the vehicle.
Then it could either return a clean recording I.e under the limit or it could flag it and return an overspend verdict.
The programming for something like that would be extremely easy to write.
I don’t know if it is like that in reality. It would defiantly be possible though.
