I’ve been told from a fairly reliable source that the speed cams in the gantries on the M42 aren’t wired up. I often come back along there in the small hours of the morning and they’ll have a compulsory speed limit of 30mph (sometimes 20mph would you believe!) signed for the tiny little hole they’re digging 10 mile further down the road and I never slow down to the signed limit. Neither does anyone else for that matter.

leave grantham on a52 down barrowby hill through cammera at 40
then 44 through the specs from watton prison to bingham round about
then 50 through the specs just after the garage on the left hand side on the a46, but only over the 2 hillsto keep my speed up, when im over those hills its down to 44 until you go through the last specs[ note your not doing 50 as you loose it up the hills
then as you come into coventry on a46 you go round big roundabout then theres two cammeras on dual carriage which i go past at 50.
then theres two farther down the a46 one at the top of a hill and one at the bottom sort of hidden in trees which i pass at 40
nothing else on way down
comming back the f irstt is at jct 3a of the m42 which are variable so it 20[22],30[33]40[44] 50[55]60[56] note all set on cruise, apart fom the 2nd to last, as i do what every one else does if the last ones a open limit i just boot it even though the limit should apply from the second last to last
then a52 gamston dual carriage specs where i do 55
then 44 through the specs at radcliffe, bingham though to watton prison
then home
the only time i vary from that is when im bored[ same route every night, well 99% of nights] and i forget about the specs, cammeras and go through a smidge over them speeds 
so there you are if im wrong shoot me, and yes there are nights where i think ive got a ticket comming but up to now i havent had one, luck, who knows but until i get one i wont change, ive tried it but just slip back into my old ways
but do those speeds make me a bad driver in your eyes yes in mine no
p.s you can pull it to pieces but at least its fact

1 yes slow down for speed signs
2 no dont speed up for specs, ive re read post and cant see where i say i speed up for specs[ im sure youll point it out if im wrong] , i think your thinking i drive like you so would be speeding up,but no i drive like me so would be [im sure you can work that one out].
note both could be the other way round as depends what speed the traffic in fronts doing. but they are 90% of the time what i do
and no you dont need to answer now as youve acnoliged[ cant spell it but im sure you understand it] that theres a difference between specs and speed cammeras
and now i leave the subject, but dont worry iLL re post when my luck runs out so you can have the last word I TOLD YOU SO

you slow down for flashing speed signs but do 44mph thru cameras in a 40 zone
and you call it using common sense
