@Eric: I agree with this thread being the best place for Belgian marques, but there are quite a lot of them,
think of Minerva, Miesse, Brossel, Bovy, Pipe, FN, Liberty, Willems, MOL, SDS, Denonville and more…
ERF-Continental:
@Eric: that’s true…according to “Recueil de l’automobile de Belgique” of 1951, Imperia S.A. was
indeed importer for Büssing as well as Adler, Alfa Romeo, Standard and Triump. The showroom
and sales office was on 82, Rue de Namur in Brussels. I have been told that the test-circuit for
the various marques was on the roof of the factory and still exists…awaiting restauration?
Nessonvaux is situated close to Francorchamps so perhaps a challenge for an automotive-investor?
Hey ERF, Yes the factory is still there, I often pass by Nessonvaux, but it is nearly complete destroyed, as many factories in that region.
But still a peace of the circuit exists. Some units are used by small companies. Pitty that nearly everything has gone in Belgium as now the
last( at Ougrée) cokes burning site has closed down. yes all were dirty works, but now they have let a poor region behind, tanks to Mittal.
Curious which total weight is allowed today to carry with their 7 axle trains, as before Langevain did with their Mack 6 axels.
Bye Eric,
Transports Langevin from Grivegnée stopped operations in 1992, they had also a taxi-company,
but a very known transporter of heavy/big coils in the region. A lot of companies had to stop,
think of Keulders in Visé, once a big company, but also Frans Beiten of Maastricht border with
Spa-business. Time flies…

Hey ERF, lots have gone with the industry, think Keulders did as last the cokes haulage to the port to ship them to Sidmar.
years ago it was miraculous to see all the fire and lights at night driving along the Meuse (maas).
Bye Eric,
Hey, Family Reniers ( premises Flémalle Liège) A big group companies in those days, Lots of miesses lorries buses and
dust-carts. Only today as a workshop and bus and coaches company in Landen.
GDL (Landen)was a part of them too with (±20) MB 1932 pulling for Hoyer, but sold to Sotrai (Tracto) for the licences.
For those who know Liège its now a tyre service of VDK Lambrecht, but its a tumble-down permises today.
Bye Eric,
@Tiptop495/Eric…confused about 6 and 7 axles, but herewith a picture of Langevin’s Mack.

Hey ERF, thought the mack’s had 6 axles, or maybe some■■? but today I’m sure it are 7 axles DAF tandem and 4 on the trailers
And not lowloaders but coil trailers as the Mack but with a sliding roof today, first seen last week at Cockerill.
In those days it was all Langevin you saw in the interworks transport at Cockerill, AEC’s and later Daf’s, and taken over by Greg (Frisaye).
Cheers Eric,

Hey ERF, Know the site put some pic’s on it, pitty that there is so little to see about the old time lorries, because
there were realy big companies over there, same as in Antwerp.
Seen the Minerva thread.
Cheers Eric,
This Miesse was still in service in the eigthies near Mechelen as horse transporter on a bus chassis and Gardner powered.
Nice picture Mandator…mostly the livestock-vehicles did not make many miles, though in good shape still.
Do you have an idea who made the cab?
Nice day, A-J
Regarding Miesse postwar cabs it’s not easy. They told me in the past that it was COOVI (somewhere in Brussels) but I never saw any brochures etc. on this manufacturer.
Some of the later forward control models were cabbed by Stoelen in Lier. Maybe Tiptop495 can help here

Hey Mandator, I thought on COOVI too, but that was a one door company such a small permisses in Jette, but made lots of cabs, and nice looking for the time. And yes later Stoelen made cabs for them and looked like the front of a bus because of the big roomy cab.

Bye Eric,
Given that the bus-like ones have already been identified as Stoelen, can we guess that these are COOVI cabs?

An Auto Miesse struggling with Anterpen tramlines. Robert
Hey Robert, nice pic, Wilms / Vittax later Centrum valkenzwaard already long gone. But was a very old company which has driven many kinds of marques and a lot of Maggies, because of air cooled.
Here a Gillemot Kampenhout gone up in Giraud but now in hands of Rotra.
Bye Eric,
The Gillemot Miesse looks to have a Bollekens cab fitted (for the interested parties: de cab was dark green and trailer orange).
