I was doing interstate work out of Narrandera NSW to Sydney, Melbourne, Adalaide, Brisbane and everywhere inbetween. The least amount of time away from home I would say 3 days and the most over a week. Thats only because they didn’t have the drivers so you would do a change over of trailers in West Wyalong on the way back from Brisbane and go right back up again. And yes I did say trailers as in more than one. On a bad week say 2 Melbourne trips would be just over $800. On a good week if you can get a Brisbane trip or two $1600 after tax. Just don’t expect a 40Hr week because doing interstate you get paid per kilometer not hour. Its not like your Eddie Stobart faries that work a sweat up reversing a single trailer. A lot of the time you have got to load the trailers yourself and on occasions unload them but thats when you live in the bush in the city it may be different.
it all depends where you live and who you work for…

hi what are the house prices like and how do u get permits to work i have 10 years tanker exp
IM ot sure about the Eastern side of Australia but the house prices in W A where getting expensive a good home starting at $300,000 , There is a shortage oof drivers too there and companies do like uk drivers as we tend to have better training etc. The work visa’s stiuation was being changed when i left to allow more skilled people in easier so might pay to give the Australian embassy a ring, As a tanker driver if you want to earn the big money try the mine companies thats where the money is. ps things in general are more expensive there to like food going to the doctor you have to pay to vist and cars no cheap bangers there lol . When i went over in 96 all i had to do to get my road licence was to do there high way code part of the test but i think thats now changed and its a bit like here start on the rigd then go bigger so may pay to ask if you have to do that as that can cost too hope this helps.
Does anybody have any info on driving wages how long youre away for or any usefull information
Thanks
