Australia then and now

I think Hippos kill the most people in Africa , nasty buggers apparently. George from Rainbow always seemed alright

Hippos are very territorial, or is that rhinos? If either one was chasing me, I wouldn’t be hanging about, to identify it.

They take on crocs and usually win really nasty but then again so are crocs

Back to the cows

Look out for any animals and watch how they are behaving, particularly bulls or cows with calves

Knowing about cows with calves, and dogs, when walking past a local field a few years ago but on the other side of the fence, I still had my dog on a short lead and to her credit she ignored the cows completely, avoiding eye contact and walking slowly to heel. The whole herd of cows rushed to the fence and walked alongside us all the way to the end.

But the bull who was there, ignored us completely and continued munching away at the grass in the middle of the field.

Just trying to confuse everyone (

Any idea of the date? I’m guessing ~'70 +/-, pre placard days.

What’s a placard, apart from the obvious ie a hazard warning plate? They are talking about it on the American site, but that is something obviously much bigger.

All dangerous goods require standardised placarding, advising of the type of maternal, posed hazards, emergency procedures and who to notify in case of emergency.
The standardisation is world wide and applies to all types of transportation, road, rail and water. Dangerous goods are not permitted by air.

Thanks, but that was what I thought, the Yanks are going on about some big pieces of equipment though. I’ll ask them if the subject comes up again.

The appropriate diamond has to be displayed on the front of a road vehicle/ combination.

The placard has to be displayed on each side and rear of every trailer in the combination or body of a rigid truck.

We used to call them Hazchem stickers. Placards / stickers - same thing it would appear

Definitely 70s and as you say pre placard.

Mostly, yes. As usual exemptions apply e.g. Li-Ion batteries below a certain capacity.

And jet fuel?
One would hope so. :grinning:
