Assistance Required ASAP

Hi Guys
This is on behalf of a mate who is out on the road at the minute, any assistance greatful

He put his digi-card in at 10pm last Sunday, has worked all week, took all the relvant breaks etc and is today having to night out, he’ll be back in the yard no later than 7am tomorrow morning.

His question is this.

Even though he will be completing his 6th shift ‘technically’ on his 7th day of working can he put his card back in on Sunday Night at 11 pm

I’ve looked at the WTD regarding weekly rests etc and he accepts that but how is he covered finishing at 7am tomorrow morning and re starting at 11pm on Sunday.

Is he legal night-ing out now and running in tomorrow morning.

Many Thanks

Andy

Yes as long as he can legally have a reduced weekly rest period this weekend he can start work again at 23:00 Sunday.

Hell will be starting a reduced weekly rest period no later than 144 hours from the end of his last weekly rest period, and will be having a reduced weekly rest period of over 24 hours, so as long as he can legally have a reduced weekly rest period he’s good to go

The fact that he will be doing some work on over 7 consecutive days doesn’t matter as long as he has 24 hours or more rest before going over 144 hours from the end of his last weekly rest period.

That would be a 40 hour reduced weekly rest. There’s nothing unusual about it.

He’s doing a 6th shift, nothing unusual about it.
These are very basic questions that you you should know, never mind between two of you. There’s a link to the drivers regs at the top of this forum.

I missed that bit, you must have been editing your post as I was typing

Yes as has been said that’s perfectly legal, he started at 22:00 Sunday so he has until 22:00 tomorrow to finish work.

That’s obviously assuming he has enough driving time and working time (60 hours per week) ec’t to do it.
