Anyone else stuck here for the weekend ■■
I’ve been here since 0010 this morning and only 4 British trucks here. Say hello if your here I’m in the Daf 105 SSC with a tipper.
Have they change their name yet? - Ashfordski Truckstop
Next time you better park in Folkestone Lorry park - Cheap parking £10 for weekend me think also swimming pool, showers and pub in hotel opposite to parking area
always out there plenty of Brits, Irish and few of Dutch & German lorries park
Dunno if you saw me there last night. Home now
Folkestone was £11 a night last time I used it, should be a load of Matthews of Yarmouth in and prob some S&K, a few good pubs close to hand. Only use Ashford if you are fluent in Polish, Latvian Czech or anyother Eastern European tongue
for those of us who dont know directions or a post code for folkstone would be good. as we dont do regular runs. so finding a good place is always a gamble. thanks

Just follow signs for harbour from motorway it will take you right there. Bit of a funny route but just trust the signs.
Is it normally possible to get in there in the evening, or is it one of those places where you really need to get in early to be sure of a place?
If I’m coming straight from Finland I’m normally at Ashford something like 7pm.

It can get busy on a weekend but I’ve never failed to park. Even in the early hrs.
I like Ashford, good showers , decent food , nice bar and we have a account so its splendid.
I have never paid for parking at Folkestone, if you come in by Cheriton road, you pass Morrisons on your left, a pub will in the front of you and a big park on the left, at that roundabout turn right, the train station on the right, then next roundabout turn right.
That area is a very quiet residential street, and we have done trailer change overs there on a sunday with no problems.
The police station is nearby, so the cab and trailer is safe on a 24/45 off.
It is 5 minute walk to town, with a few Asian buffet places and eat all you can eat, it is thriving at the weekend, sit in a cafe and watch the world go by, and the old hover port is not far to walk to for the night clubs and night life, fresh fish dishes on sunday on the old quay.
If you have a bike, the power station at Dungerness is a very long ride, and there is a cafe by the light house, in the summer there is a small tourist steam train.
Be sure to have a puncture repair kit, as i once found out it is long walk back to the truck.

With no toilet or shower facilities. After your long bike ride and eat all you can buffet. You must smell lovely.

Think most services/Truckstop should offer this type of service it would make life alot easier
