Beem sent here for the past few days. Apart from the wasps, not a bad DC. Fairly quick tip and paperwork wait, big bays with plenty of room to turn and apparently a decent canteen. But why is it an XDC?
Stands for cross dock centre pal, chuff knows what that means
Is that the RDC that used to be Netto Don’t know why it is called XDC. The RDC’s at Magna Park all have different codes like that.
The bay’s round the back are terrible just enough room to get on and when you drop all the air out of trailer it’s still to high for the stoppers

I think cross docking involves very little storage, breaking down, splitting or picking, in through 1 door then out the other. Things like dollies, MUs etc are cross docked. CDC is chilled/frozen, ADC is ambient, XDC is cross dock , IDC is integrated then there’s import centre & George.

Ah … now that all makes sense Thanks … always wondered what those codes meant.
The XDC deals predominately with non food items, household, electrical etc.
The previous posters are correct stating that there’s very little storage & working on a nil pick basis, when the inbound pallets are broken down to be shipped to stores, there should be NIL left on the pallet when they’ve finished, as they’ve ordered just enough from suppliers for that day.
I’ve done both deliveries there and done agency there, there canteen is good / cheap. It’s the same contract caterers as Asda redhouse but better value iirc (more items per/£ for the set breakfast). But payment is via the asda pre pay green card. The canteen ladies however might let you pay cash to them and they pay for it via their personnel card. The door leading to the canteen / werehouse is in the top corner of the yard past the gatehouse / smoke shelter and despite it being operated via the green card, is usually spragged open, so you should get in. Just ask the ladies 1st if it’s ok to feed & pay cash
As for werehouse codes, I alway though ADC was the same as SMG … Slow moving goods. Or in the case of deliveries… slow moving good in, slow moving death.
Because once you arrived, your going to be there a very long time
