Asda has apologised after a delivery driver was caught on a security camera ramming a parked car out of the way and driving off. The van pulled alongside a parked Renault Megane in the footage before reversing and moving it out of the way. The crash happened in Oldbury, West Midlands, the Express & Star reported. The supermarket chain said it was “very sorry” for the “unacceptable incident” and the car had been repaired and returned. Read more West Midlands stories Car owner Ian Peacock was visiting his uncle on 20 December and heard a “loud bang and a car alarm going off” before realising it was his car that had been hit. Mr Peacock said the crash had “snapped in half his bumper support bar, the lights and smashed to pieces the casing holding the exhaust and the stuff on bottom of the car together”. After speaking to the Express & Star about the crash, Mr Peacock said he had a call from the supermarket’s head office who would be sending him a “goodwill gesture”. “I’m not bothered about the goodwill gesture but they must have sent it by carrier pigeon anyway as that was last Thursday,” Mr Peacock said.
What I can’t understand is why he reversed back and then hit it on purpose?
It wasn’t in the way…
■■■■■■ hell!
He flew past it barely slowing down to get down there on the way in.
What the hell was he thinking that made ramming it out the way seem like a good idea at the time!
Looking for address… plus maybe talking on the phone or maybe typing into sat nav has caused that. Nearly the perfect crime if it wasn’t for the camera. Those vans are probably riddled with damage the amount of drivers they go through, so might not have been noticed back at depot.

Am rather wondering why this one house has its back yard lit up like a Christmas tree whereas no one else does, suggesting it’s not a specifically bad area and they’ve got good quality CCTV covering it plus the way the van stops to look at this house for a while then goes and rams the car. Could just be very security concious of course, but does look rather targeted for some reason or other.
Can’t say anymore than that as we not had a fullblown TNUK CSI report yet.
At 50 seconds a vehicle turns right into the road then stops and reverses round the corner onto the (presumably) more major road then shoots off the way it came, i can’t make the vehicle out, was it the van returning?
if he wasn’t caught on cctv he proberbly would have gone back to the yard and got away with it. The amount of damage I see on the Tesco vans and nothing is said but if you hit the truck they go mental.
