Our 57/08 plate DAF XF105’s are causing no end of grief. All i keep getting is the same warning lights coming up on all of them, these being: Engine warning, Transmission warning, brake system warning, Power limited warning.
They have had thousands spent on them, including new Nox sensors, ad blue sensors, ad blue pumps, filters blah blah blah and they are ok for a couple of days then the warnings come on again. They do however go out sometimes. We have had them in to our local DAF dealer, spent a few days in there, more money thrown at them then 5 days later the lights are back on, the only response is “we will need to do some more investigating”
Anyone with any experience on what these problems will be related to? someone please help before i lose my sanity and i park them in the middle of the yard and set fire to them.

Those warning lights come on in ALL DAF’s ALL the time including the new DAF XF105 I drive. Just ignore them.
Check out the electrical system, start at the batteries/alternator and check their output, then move on to all the electrical connnections on the engine and gearbox, make sure there’s no corrosion and that all the pins are tight and everything is waterproof
I know of some engineers who are troubleshooting the problems the emission control systems are having on newer engines and they’re finding that a tiny drop in voltage is enough to start tripping out sensors, if you’re only getting 23.9v to a component rather than the 24v it needs, all hell starts to break loose
One simple test anybody can do is to lower the windows with the engine running and then lift them up again, do the same thing, making sure the batteries are fully charged, but with the engine off, if the windows go up slower, you’ve got a dodgy battery or bad connection somewhere, nine times out of ten it will be a bad earth
Write to DAF, copy the dealer in, see what they say. They might send an engineer out to get to the bottom of it, rather than the laptop fairies at your local dealer. Worth a try!
I had the same problem with the LF I drive it turned out after 3months of having bits put on including a throttle pedal by Ford & Slater because that’s what came up on the machine they had to be the wiring loom.
Is this what I’ve got to look forward to? Never ending faults and warnings? My mob is getting a fleet of new DAF’S in July/August. A mix of CFs and XFs apparently.
Do they put all these warnings up at same time ? Have any had new ignition relays fitted as these can be a problem . Sometimes worth making sure software of ecus are up to date which they can tell on Davie then reprogram what’s req
