It seems cheap to me, at least compared to iPad

I got a 10" Arnova (Ooo err) was about £120 from HMV.
Great for a quick surf of the net when I can’t be assed kicking the Craptop into life. Works well, battery lasts, but mine needs Wi-Fi to work.
Currently half price for the 10" in HMV at £65 ish, in store only if you can find a store near you with stock - can’t check on the internet due to the administration of HMV

Not that I know of, but if you’ve got a decent phone, you can create a hotspot

Erm it’s got a mini USB on the top but I’m not sure if it’d work with a dongle.

I like the fact it has a faster processor than some, as well as the RAM and internal storage… I use my phone as a WiFi hotspot to connect to the net.
Works for me.

I would like a new iPad but they are considerably more money as you no doubt know !
I had one - for around a week before the charger port disintegrated. Was told in the shop that this is a prolific fault with these tablets. Swapped it for a blackberry playbook instead.
