Are nuclear power plants becoming obsolete?

China is building out 10GW of solar, wind & battery storage every 14 days
A large size nuclear plant can take up to 10 years to build & come online with less than 10GW’s of power & cost a magnitude more than renewable’s:open_mouth:

“China was installing renewables so rapidly it would meet its end-of-2030 target by the end of this month — or 6.5 years early.”

France energy prices go negative last week as renewables surge prompting shutdown of nuclear plants.

theyre just about to start building Sizewell C . in the local paper just announced Sizewell is renting of a warehouse complex for construction materials off the A14 at Ipswich that is only just now getting built . Going back years i used to metal detect on the beach by Sizewell , its forbidden to detect that stretch,i knew that but hey ho lots of goodies then i kept finding mysterious brass bobbins that only much later did i find out were the striker buttons from WW2 landmines !

I dread to think what the final cost will be for that nuclear power plant.

Not much wind and solar under weeks of high pressure winter frost and short days.
Nuclear is just a cancerous time bomb in the back yard.
So we cover all the fields in solar panels then we starve.
Then we let China rule us living the dream in a prison mega city.
Where do we sign up.
Glad I’m 65 not 25 hope no such thing as reincarnation I don’t want to come back.

i was in holiday in North China and browsing a newspaper ,in the ads somebody from India was advertising wanting to buy coal fired power stations, cash paid, will dismantle
