Apple ID scam

Heard about this last week, then at the weekend I got a text as follows:-

Eddie Snax your
Apple ID has been
deactivated. Confirm
your details at http
warningapple.com to
prevent permanent
termination.Apple

Now the funny thing is, My phone is a Blackberry, I don’t and never have had an Apple product of any description, Therefore I’ve not had, wanted or required an Apple ID. But to those that do, use the usual scepticism if you receive anything like that. I’ll post a link to the story.

They’re comedy mate, they try it on with loads of people. On Apple devices if you click on the email address, which will normally be something like “AppleHelpDesk”, or something like that, it will show you who it’s actually from, and it’s normally around the lines of “george.agdugdegwengo@nigeria.com”.

Some are terrible, some are quite tidy, and you need to examine the grammar to tell them apart. A lot have inequal gaps between words, or just poor placement of commas.

Ignore, then delete. Someone gets scammed every 7 seconds apparently. :open_mouth:

SOMEONE OFFERED ME 10 MILLION DOLLAR.
THANX,PLEASE FAX IT TO ME,I REPLIED.

If you’re ever concerned about the source of an email, just click reply and check the address. A lot of scams are slipping past the spam folder as they’re wising up and using French email addresses. Anything from Apple, tesco etc etc will have a recognisable address
