Turn up at the appointed time, clean hands, clean teeth, showered and tidy.
Give 'em a big smile and say, I’m cooper and I’m here to start at…
Turn up walk down long tunnel walk upstairs to transport office sit down read and sign paper work about hour and half most of it about bridge bashing. Get keys and paper work and maps. Check vehicle is OK make sure you you check fuel gauge find trailer hook up check back of trailer for numbers on pallets or cage’s that match what’s on paper work and of you go.
Don’t forget to ask for card to use canteen or you can’t even get a hot drink with out the card.
Is that former Safeway’s RDC? I could walk in there any time day or night and just wait for a run.
I snapped the air lines once, and they just said “Don’t bother, accidents happen…” Those were other times, banning the driver was unheard of
You sound like first time doing agency. Usually you sign in and get a folder with a run sheet and keys, that is it, look for tractor unit and trailer assigned in the yard. Get familiar with the motor so you can start it and engage it on gear, set the height in the cab, hit the road, do not forget the trailer

I was on agency years ago maybe maybe got sent to 10 different places over the years never had an assessment.
Once applied for job at know how /pc world possibly can’t fully remember
Anyway way 8 of us there we all drove around the block…got shown how to be. A banksan guide some one on and.off a loading bay.
Then we all sat in A room given a form asking stupid questions like where do you see yourself in 5 years time
What qualifications qualities can you bring to the company.
Describe your goals ambion life etc
We was all the same.god we only wanted a driving job.
Personally don’t get driving assessments. You’ve got a licence you can drive.
Just have be shown how said company operates paperwork that’s it really

Same here, did agency late 80’s early 90’s and never any assessments. I totally disagree with you have a licence so you can drive!!!
Just look around at the appalling driving, assessments are 100% necessary, every 3 to 5 years might get rid of the dross.
Hang up your licence mush, if you need assessing you obviously ain’t capable of doing the job with out having your bum wiped and guided through every stupid little procedure, OR YOU COULD MAN UP, TURN UP AND DELIVER THE GOODS BUT THATS OBVIOUSLY NOT IN YOUR SKILLSET
The UK is full of top notch drivers, we see them on our roads everyday. None of us fall into bad habits or become complacent. It just doesn’t happen.
We know the rules of the road, they are embedded in our brains from the day we passed a simple basic test. We don’t need to learn anymore. It’s everyone else that are bad drivers and never me.
There is no tailgating or undertaking because they are dangerous practices and no intimidating other drivers or cutting them up out of badness. It never happens.
Our accident rate is amazing and nobody is killed or injured because of the way we drive. It’s just amazing how good we all are.
There is a name for the way we think, can’t remember the word right now.
Cooper stay conscientious and you’ll be fine.

Shouldn’t that be:-
“I’m Cooper - and I’m here to start just like that.”…?
