Hi 240 Gardner, I have no idea about it been new to Tyburn, as i understand it Smith Brothers of Tamworth later called CTS from Birch Coppice Dordon Tamworth had this vehicle from new, IIRC Bexton & Smith ran it for a while then it was parked up for many years, i think Graham who is restoring it bought it from them. below is a picture ot it when operated by CTS.

Thanks for the extra info. I recall Brendan Bexton tellng me that it was ex-Calor Transport (who took over Tyburn, I think), and I dimly recally that I have a photo if it in Tyburn colours somewhere on my old PC. They had several 6x2 units, and with similar reg nos. to this one. I see it has the Pet Reg back windows in the photo you’ve posted.
Very interesting Gardner 240, will be seeing Graham in the next few weeks so will try to find out who definitely had it from new, Regards T1.
