just wondered if the old boy from tamworth area is still about with his f6 ? 4 wheelr rigid flat
do you know who i mean i think his son had a cargo aswell ive not seen them for a couple of yrs

Would that Atki have been a “cut down” 8 wheeler T1 ? Maybe Gardner 240 might know more,as I don’t recall any Atki tractors built to that twin steer configuration.Could be wrong and stand corrected though. I liked the shot of the Big J and York trailer loaded with bags!! Cheers Bewick.

Graham Blakeman an old school truck mechanic and owner of Blakeman Motor Services tells me this is probably the only twin steer mk1 left as very few were factory built, it was once owned by CTS as below a company i think you remember, Regards T1

hauliers and growers, he was running an f6 up until recently 3 yrs or so

hi ya mike thats the chap your on about they do potatoes its a green f6 sleeper cab with white sign wriging last time i saw it was down at shepton mallet as i was going in to truckfest south west he was in a layby out on the road i think they are from drayton bassett i think…what about the ones that used to park at kettlebrook by the very low bridge opposite what was the park inn by the canal what were they called and there was brewers grains there yard was where buildbase is now nextdoor to what was p m atkins ,they were orange with a cows head on the door leyland bisons i seem to remember …do you have any pics of jack bootons (eddingale haulage) trucks pull for bageridge brick kingsbury before barry proctors got in there t1 thats another one , C Jones used to pull out of wilnecote brick in tilcon colours , i bet you have some photos of colin and hobson dont you carl ■■? chris darel (not sure on the spelling )

the wagons that used to park by the park inn were acouple of old leyland 10 ton flatbeds. i think the name was browne and most of their work was out of t.a.c over the bridge.

hi bewick from what graham told me smith bros(CTS) ask atki to build one and they said it couldnt be done so the converted a tractor unit or a rigid themselfs carnt remember what he said now but anyway atki seen it and started to factory build them but didnt make many iirc this was the first factroy built ■■? not sure though

Merry Christmas Craig, not come across any Edingale Haulage photo’s yet will have another look, did have a chat with Jack Booton earlier in the year he had a 8x4 daf crane lorry we put through MOT.

Oh dear me here is a lesson for any driver, never try to tip a load on the jack knife.

Walter Rickard is still driving his Volvo - he took it down to Southampton the other day -

His son still uses the Ford Cargo although they do also have a relatively modern Foden 6 wheeler (4000 series)
