hi all hi tamworth 1 rember rowe s well mainley because they did some live stock. the pic off the one in smash was a lucky ,it must have been on edge of tipping over. i rember a big firm by lights was that c t s and then they moved to that yard further up. did they have trucks ,just up from lights where the big tree trunks werepiled by a5 thanks charlie
hi ya tamworth1 did you work at wm rowes or j clarke tsp i worked at wm rowes on yts when i left school about 20 yrs ago now ,i remembere the roadtrains ,b series erf catle boxes ,ace mercury and just started having iveco turbo techs we even put a bedford km i think it was on the road that we recoverd and never got claimed and run it on catle lol the j clarke erf was driven by a chap nicknamed dinky ,when i got to go out in the atki or aec wreckers with pete thompson or tony salt i thought it was great

J. Clarke vehicles parked at a yard on the old A5 Tamworth between Fazeley and Mile Oak call the Ponderosa in the mid 80’s. Wm Rowe & Sons vehicles also parked there. Houses now stand where the Ponderosa was called Brewster Close.

Hi charliemjp i have somemore pictures of the Thames Trader cattle truck crash i will find out and put on soon.
i went to barry dock s/w with john stretton in YVO 175Y with a wide load from cannock/rugley area i think we picked it up from…it look a bit more worse for wear at the time though…i carnt remember the yard at penderosa though i remember washys motors at fazley and the ones that parked up at mileoak .went in foseco with my dad a few time s when he subbied for hayton coulthard and going to ravenscraig steel works and having to hide in the footwell or on the bunk behind the curtains lol so nobody saw me was that jclarke work subbed to them? he did load out of foseco with stuff up to pipper alpha oil rig when that set on fire they got dispensation to run straight up if i remember right
i spent many an hour after school watching the wagons coming in at the ponderosa
