Has anybody got anything to say about Enterprise lgv training at Ancoats. Manchester. I start my training next month. Am doing the whole lot from c to C+E. Any tips and advice for new drivers would be excellent. Where to start once I pass with gaining the experience. I work in a factory at the moment and I need a change in direction. Thanks all in advance.
They are recommended on here - see the link in my signature below
Thanks Rog. Pretty new to this site. Still finding my way around. Plenty of useful info. Again Thanks
I used Enterprise for C and C+E. Can’t recommend them highly enough. I started off on agency, with Staff UK - got plenty of work from them. I believe that Enterprise have recently started their own agency, so worth asking. Culina are opening a new place in Salford. I think it is due to open early next year, but are recruiting now.
I used Enterprise too. I found them to be quite good, the only problem I had was having the tests out of Bredbury.
I trained with Enterprise and stayed in a hotel whilst training and didn’t regret it. I did both C and CE. Very good trainers and their own reversing area which meant you could get a lot of practice. Its over 5 years since I was there so instructors might have changed but I found Phil and Alan to be very very good. They did a lot for confidence too rather than just teach you the bare minimum to scrape a pass. I got my ce licence, didn’t use it for 5 months and then passed an assessment for a ce job with no problems.
Sounds like I was given the right people to learn with. Thanks for all your replies people.
I start with Enterprise this weekend after talking with everyone on here. Due to work and no holidays left im doing 4 hours this sat/sun then same following weekend then four hours on the Monday before test. I did a test drive with Hindley green, then Enterprise. I did try to book with Redrose as they got good reviews but after 4 attempts to book over two weeks I gave up. The vans at Enterprise are automatic which I felt takes a lump out of the training and keeps you concentrating on the road and size of the vehicle. Also I found the level of training in my assessment alone was a lot higher and more detailed. Looking forward to getting stuck in now even though I start at 7am on my day off but thats my fault
Have you taken an assessment drive with them? its free you know!
One thing I did pick up use the ball of your feet on the accelerator as not sure if its the automatic thing but if you use your whole foot the truck is just not smooth to drive, soon as he told me to use just the ball of my foot and I got used to having no clutch I really enjoyed it. Good luck matey
Thanks Biker 10.
Unfortunately I’m in the same boat as you. Work commitments. I hope all goes well for you with your training. Please let me know how it goes and what is involved. I have actually never even been in a wagon/truck. No I haven’t taken an assessment drive. I’m just going to throw myself in at the deep end. I’m confident that I will have very few issues with the training. Go in with a positive frame of mind and all that. :Looking forward to it. Again good luck
Wahey, yesssssss. Passed my class 2 today. 4 minor faults. Very impressed with that result. I have to take my hat off to the guys and gals at Enterprise LGV Training centre Manchester. They do an excellent job. Started training on Saturday after never ever been in a truck in my life. Then a pass today.
