On another track, almost got tempted to join a machinery/plant mover today on class 1, offered 875. I thought per week but nope… 8.75 ph.
You’d get more than that stacking shelves in Lidl.

If you do the hours you can earn a good wage… so it’s a shiete wage for a normal working week then.

I think firms like this need to understand that now we are all getting older, we just aren’t prepared to work 70 hour weeks any more, and no 20-something would consider working a 70 hour week in the first place.
Spot on Harry. I’m fed up of telling drivers who get 2 weeks pay in one week they have really worked two weeks.
Little or no overtime rates, no bonus, no incentive to get old and knackered before you retire.
Having said that, I did an 8 hour shift today and it felt like I finished at dinner time [emoji38]

This is the type of work they do around here. Concrete prefabs of dubious sizes. On another track, almost got tempted to join a machinery/plant mover today on class 1, offered 875. I thought per week but nope… 8.75 ph.
Loved those wide loads into London ( assuming it is wide )
Had to be in before 7 am and was tipped and often home by dinner time on a Friday
Dozy your still a ■■■ troll.
robroy:
I can’t be arsed with these firms who advertise night out money as ‘‘earnings’’, they aint earnings, they are subsistence expenses.
They only do that to make their crap money look half decent.
If they feel the need to do that, then you automatically know that they range between run of the mill and ■■■■ poor.
Where does it say anything about night out money being included in the £700 plus.
I can`t see it with my “readers” on and a magnifying glass,or are you going off post and and just having your “tupennerth”
Harry Monk:
Their main depot is in Kent and their local reputation is that they work you up to the maximum legal hours, they run “bottom of the range” trucks which aren’t really suitable for week-long tramping and they do a large amount of flatbed work which would be far easier on the driver if it was carried in a curtainsider. Basically they seem to be a bit stuck in the 1950s.
By far more difficult loading /unloading steel by crane if your on site with a curtainsider, thats why they have flatbed trailers with ropes a sheets its easier.
They seem to be out dated compared with some, but they have been around a good few years, and out lived many of their "flash motor"competitors.
Must be doing something right, otherwise they would have gone under in the same way years ago.

I had to be on TNUK before 7 am trolling asking senseless questions about the load, and was never tipped early and often never home by dinner time on a Friday and forever missing my steak dinner

Never tipped on a building site in London
