Any Stobart Biomass Drivers Out There?

Thanks again Dozy,

Maybe you should ask for a transfer lol, don’t you fancy the Biomass job yourself then?

I was offered loads of transfers whilst under threat of redundancy ,the closest was 50 miles away ,not do- able on a daily basis I.m.o.h.o and confirmed as I commuted to various different depots on a temporary basis ,fuel they covered ,but the 3 hrs round trip and the 600 miles a week I was putting on my car just got to much in the end ,15 hr shift + 3 hr commute became too much even though they did ( most planners did ) try to give me sensible days .
Tramping was the suggestion for me in the end including rugby ,but after speaking to a boss at another depot he confirmed there was always the chance I’d be brought back then have to commute home for the night/ nights which made it again not- doo- able ,well not in my opinion ,I’ve no idea what work they were on about out of rugby ,but I’d guess general more so than bio- mass.
I think I could do with a complete change to be honest ,but there’s just that nagging feeling ill go tomorrow and they be handing out redundancy the next ,but as Mrs says just forget it ,go ,I think she’s right .
off now to another meeting ,where do they want me to commute to now :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

i dont really understand all this “youre all mugs for getting the cpc card”? i work for a decent company who pay very well and who paid for my cpc . if youre unfortunate enough to work for a crap company who expect you to pay for your own cpc, then you have my sympathies and i personally wouldnt do it i would go elsewhere. the cpc thing is just a red herring really as its the ■■■■ hourly pay and conditions that drivers need to protest against not some crappy card that means nothing. having said that i acknowledge im lucky because i work for a decent company (earned 39k last year, average 48hrs) and im not in most peoples position but i can honestly say i wouldnt pay for my own cpc or work for any company that treated me like crap and wanted to pay me ■■■■■■ wages.

Christ no. He might need to work. I believe he finds pushing shopping trollies challenging.

I can tell you , that the , biomass name is a little mis leading . I work for jenkinsons doing exactly the same work ( a lot of their floors & chip liners are run through our office ) . Wood chips , sawdust , recycled wood etc = dusty work but we also do a fair bit of waste aswell , which can mean anything from the contents of your recycling bin up to commercial waste , which is a broad term for stinking s@@t . If you can put up with the odd smelly load , the job it’s self is canny , decent trucks , decent money , although I don’t know about 47k , maybe a bit optimistic , but 37k definitely . I know a few of the biomass lads have been there a few years so it can’t be that bad .

You working out of penrith, mackemflan?

Yep I’m based at penrith
