sounds like i have hit the jackpot with you and that you will be a class 2 dinky toy driver, or worse a 7.5t one, who has a cpc, passed there test in an automatic, can not get around without a sat nav and earns 7 odd a quid an hour.

As well as you cant fail it,its not cpc,its dcpc,i think they are getting a bit uptight and flustered with all the name calling,thats unless esl pay for you to get your cpc now

oh dear you do seem to get a tad upset, calm down and take some deep breaths.
i would suggest if you dont like things i spout out about then dont read them.
i dont think your a class one driver as you dont seem to have the temperament for the job.
if you dont mind me giving your a few tips then i would suggest, you have to learn how to be a bit more laid back to be a real driver my friend, we have to spot all the nutters on the road and protect them from themselves which is a skill the real drivers will have in spades, they keep calm under pressure, they keep the speed down low to give themselves a chance, the real drivers have a dam good head on there shoulders

I can only speak for myself and they paid for the apx 8 hrs in the classroom ,they did not pay for the traveling time or fuel from grantham - sherburn- grantham ,I know it doesn’t sit well with some on this thread who soon as someone says something that doesn’t fit in with the line of stobards /esl pay for everybit of training don’t like it ( trolls)but there the facts in my case ,and may I add all my depot drivers who had to travel to sherburn from grantham ,Lincoln ,Nottingham ,Mansfield etc .
the same applies to some of the depots they wanted me to travel to work out of ,if it was fmcg ( tesco basically they paid 60 hrs guaranteed to try to make it so you were finicial ly worse off ,they also paid me between £51- 68 fuel allowance ) ,but other depots it was a case of paying your hours there ,fuel there and back ,traveling time of upto 1 1/2 hrs was not paid ( I refused to travel without f/a .
Now if people want to cal me a troll for telling the truth so be it ,it’s no skin off my nose ,but They are the facts
Redundancies every 2 years
Feb 2 yrs ago 90 out of apx 180 drivers were made redundant due to stobards saying they were closing the chilled division ( it continued but renamed fresh at Lutterworth) at my depot .
March 2015 all drivers and office staff put at risk of redundancy ,then drivers who’d asked for redundancy told there would be no redundancies as enough jobs throughout out group ,even though hours and miles ,60 ,70,100 away ,still though left under threat of redundancy ,asked again for redundancy ,volunteer,refused ,not a option ,drivers then being touted to any depot that neede a driver without driver being consulted and under the pretence it was temporary ,drivers then all over the place as no trucks ,work at depot but redundancy still not a option even though they were still under threat of redundancy 
,eventually threat withdrawn .

Wages
I’ve done the £700/800+ p.w ,and for years ,but the facts are in my case as Pete says my mon- fri rate is £8 or thereabouts ( £8.38 ) ,it doesn’t matter if I do 70/80 hrs or 50 hrs that’s my pay rate ,and it is poor to be honest ,the 70/80 hrs ,w/end money,0/t etc just disquiz it ,
Broken promises ,I just expect honesty ,don’t ring me wed and tell me a,b,c on a wed ,and then repeat it on a sat ,then ring the following mon and try to say I miss understood what was said ,how hard is tramping ,Tuesday ,4 a.m to understand ,would I really mistake it for 4 am Tuesday days .
It’s really poor I feel when by comming on ,answering honestly your opinion on the pros/ cons of stobards to be called a troll just because you didn’t paint picture of utopia .
I could even understand that if I’d claimed it applied to everyone ,but I said it was my opinion ,and my opinion only .
Just because some stobard/ esl drivers have a life of Reilly ,earning 47 k ,everything on expenses doesn’t mean it’s like that for everyone ,mind reading this you’d think so .

I took a d/d into teesport ,I dropped it then went in t.o and got ticket for d/d I was to take to Peterborough ,checked it over ,weighed it ,then had my 45 before I left ,whilst parked up a truck with leaf graphics parked next to me ( I assume bio- mass but no idea where from ,he exited his cab with a bloody Big Bang of the driver door ( my windows were open as hot day ) ,5 mins later he’s back slamming his door shut ,he then proceeded to have a shouting match down the phone with ever was on the other end ,ending with RING me back ( so much for me peacefull 45 ) ,I guess even bio- mass drivers have bad days ,though it does seem hard to believe .
they used to park in our yard ,but I don’t see them these days ,must of been us laughing at there tales of woe and filling up with red diesel ,the shoe was on the other foot them days ,we had a bloody good number on chilled ,couldn’t help but laugh at these filthy drivers running themselves ragged for the same firm ,but the do say who laughs last ,lasts loudest ,what goes round commes round ,it does that’s for sure

Go down to rugby ,trucks top ,ask a few drivers the sp ,that’s you’re best bet ,I’m always being asked by drivers about my job ( tesco) ,funnily enough I’ve never seen one driving for esl .

I did used to work out of their old depot at Crick, a few years ago now, i think we were all on about the same at the time, not the best but certainly not the worst, although, this was pre-biomass days.
I seem to recall unless i had an issue, which tbh was not often, i never actually spoke to my planner or the office folks at Crick.
The only reason I left really was the crazy system they operated for booking holidays, as a tramper, you could only put in forms on a Monday or a Friday as this was only time you were there obviously. However, new holiday year always seemed to start on a Tuesday so by time you got back Friday the Jun - Oct was all gone. I am led to believe this system has changed and on Biomass you are only competing with the Biomass drivers not every Stobart driver.
Anyway back to on point if there are any Biomass drivers out there please feel free to input your experiences here or drop me a pm which ever you prefer, thanks again in advance.

Yes I’d be intrested to know how they get to 47 k p.a ,even doing 70 / 80 hrs ,o/t ,w/ends ,some hours at night shift rate the best I’ve done is 36 k ,which seems to be dropping yearly and I think I’ll be lucky if I hit 30k this year ,
Maybe nights out at £22.50 + % of what truck earns takes it up to 47 k 
.
That said I do wonder why stobards need to advertise for drivers at that level of pay and from what’s said is a steady job .
not long ago they had adverts everywhere for £10.10 p.h days ,you’d ofthought theyd have adverts up for 47k if that’s what bio- mass drivers are earning and they need drivers .
