Hi all.Yesterday i,quite politely asked a question regarding a long lost colleague,as i have done two times in the past on this forum.I never receive any kind of reply or helpful information. Is this something peculiar to this forum. Is this forum ONLY by North American expats FOR the same.Have you all succumbed to the American disease of rudness and arrogance as opposed to the Canadian way of helpfulness, politeness, and modesty.I merely ask as most of the posts consist of complaining and backbiting.
Any one who lives out of the U.K. is an expat in some way.so a bit of help wouldn’t go amiss. All of us who have moved abroad have had both good and bad experiences. It’s all a risk, some you win, some you loose.
Most of us have also ''been there, done that and got the t’shirt.
P.S.Iposted my question on the ''et al post.Mike

Sorry fella but if I don’t know the person I can’t reply, time to get of your horse :unamused:

Blimey, 1st it’s BTD, now you Mike :open_mouth:

I don’t know the bloke either, I never posted that because I thought you would want a positive answer rather than a page full of ‘I don’t know’ answers :bulb:

I dont know who your looking for, so you also get no reply from me…

Normally if someone knows him or has seen him they will tell you otherwise you get:

dont know him as no reply

Hi people.my post was in no way being on any form of ‘‘horse’’ fttm merely that over the years i hve lost contact with a lot of old friends from the 70s and 80s,many who have gone abroad to live and work.
Ihave repeatedly,on different forums asked politely for information and have recieved not so much as a ‘‘sorry don’t know the guy’’.there are many expats throughout the world so one assumes that there is a form of contact between them.if one doesn’t ask one will never know.We are all getting older quickly.
In this instance the thread was one which seems to hold the attention of many of you so when the name ''Barney[which is not a common name]came up i was intrigued. It takes only a minute to reply in the positive or negative so don’t get a kob on with me.It costs nothing to help someone.Remember how much help you have had over the years.mike

WTF ARE YOU JABBERING ABOUT ? This is a public forum, why should I reply to a post that is meaningless to me ? Are you related to RROOBBIIEEEEE ?

Was his surname Rubble ?
Use to hang out a lot with a bloke called Fred.

Steve and Neil, very good

Mike, Bob the Dog is your man, he mentioned Barney, I think he’s finished throwing his teddies around now so you may get the answer you’re looking for when he reappears

Sorry what was the question

Hi All.FTTM.No i’m not related to Robbie and if you had read the original post correctly you would have seen that i was merely trying to track down an old friend who ‘‘maybe’’ someone on here knew.
Steve Owen many thanks for the answer but ‘‘Barney’’ as i mentioned on the post was only a nickname and he only worked for Collintors driving M.E.in the early to mid 70s.then he moved to Holland.
NMM.Thanks i am in touch with BTD so maybe can find out something.Mike

WTF do you think we are all here, your missing persons buro. Christ if he wasa such a good friend you would not have lost contact with him in the first place. So this “one” assumes he did not like you and has hidden some where amongst the 150 million others peepse here in North America.

I think that starting this question in a new thread may have been a mistake. There are many people on these forums who only read one or two topics or headings. It may have been better to “bump your original question” or ask it again in the Astran or Middle East Forum. Even Dave Mackie and Sinbin read most of those posts.

Me; I read them all, but do not remember Barney, but I am still a relative pup!!!

Peace :stuck_out_tongue:

Gremmy.I’m sorry you feel that way.Have you never lost touch with someone
is your attitude now of being obnoxious and intolerant a recent affliction or were you always like this when people ask a civil question. You can form a club with FTTM and Robbie.I hope you don’t hold a Canadian passport because they would be ashamed of you.Mike
