Still on-going on M6 N/B J5-6 looks an identical crash to Tuesday’s crash. Looking on camera, it doesn’t look good. Hope all involved are ok. Long delays so avoid.
Are there roadworks in that section?
Just before the roadworks
Would it not be an idea to not show photos until we know how badly anyone is hurt?

Hi m1cks,
That’s an understandable concern, but IMHO the pics aren’t graphic or offensive.
If they were, they’d be gone by now.
We all think were safe in our modern safe super-duper wagons, but when you see pics like this it make you realise their only tin and plastic. Hope all involved are ok.

Yep, no doubt about that, all the mitigating circumstances in the world do not come into it, if you’re entering a known area for sudden stops, which the elevated section of the M6 has been for as long as I’ve been driving, then do not sit right up the arse of the lorry in front, even sitting at a safe distance will not be enough if they’re sitting up someone’s arse as they will stop a lot quicker if they hit something than they will if they just emergency braked
that flatbed DAF wi steel on looks like one of RMS’s from goole hope everyone involved ok.
The problem there is that it’s currently 50 through there at the moment, if you leave a half decent gap, Mr Audi or BMW lane hopper jumps straight into it, so you back off a bit more, and the cycle continues, until you’re almost at a halt. So the gaps get kept to a minimum, and stuff like the above happens. Lanes are too tight there at the best of times anyway
^^^Very well said so many impatient people on the roads these days.

There is no minimum its call SAFE and is it better to be at a crawl than a HALT is it not

Especially if you’re using a stationary vehicle to bring you to a halt
Too fast-too close !

Too fast-too close !
But you can guarantee tomorrow will be just the same…nose to tail with not a care in the world…PATHETIC.
Hopefully not today, but there has been more than one fatality on that section in previous incidents.
I remember many years where they were cutting a driver out his cab over the other side. When I came down that side of carriageway later after making my drop, the traffic was at a crawl, the lorry was on the hard shoulder minus its cab roof door and windscreen and as I went by, I could see the drivers seat was absolutely drenched in blood. Read in the paper that night, he had died at the scene from massive internal injuries.
Being in a HGV doesn’t make you immortal…
