Another Cash for Crash scam

Not very subtle either, and it failed

dailymail.co.uk/news/article … -scam.html

Blameless & lorry driver in the same sentence, never in my lifetime did I think I’d ever hear that, ha:)

That wasn’t the kind of crash for cash I was expecting. More like crap driving. The Galaxy didn’t single that truck out, in fact he was lucky not to have been taken out by the one in the middle lane.

What he did was try to avoid smashing into the back of stationary traffic, and then caused the truck to hit him by swerving across three lanes, but that was to avoid hitting the traffic.

I doubt at any point he was aware of the truck until it it him.

Guessing the whiplash claim came later when one of the many ambulance chaser contacted him.

Would have been better to charge him with driving without due care.

Good advert for the camera though.

I’m surprised it doesn’t say Addison Lee in the back window. Probably too high a standard of driving for them

Makes you thankfull for dash cams and tracking systems. Visual evidence rarely lies. All our trucks have them now.

I see this type of manoeuvre occasionally on the M80(n) approaching ■■■■■■■■■■■■ lane 3 to slip road to avoid sitting in the traffic.

Makes me kinda worried that most of the stuff I drive does not.

The problem on our roads was summed up in a few words at the end of the ‘report’…

Daily Mail:
the four ‘whiplash scam’ perpetrators - who dropped the claim - were not prosecuted for fraud.

This “Heads you win, tails you don’t lose” way of dealing with criminal acts is only going to embolden such scammers further to “try again” since there’s no comeback.

Insurance companies stink. THEY should be pressing prosecutions EVERY TIME like Shops do with Shoplifters. THAT way, there would be no excuse for the same insurance company to “put everyone else’s premium up” which I suspect is only done “because it’s easier than prosecuting a criminal these days”. :imp:

Not necessarily…

I was knocked off my motorbike by a Clio driven by a middle class white teenager with 2 female passengers, the passengers were on the passenger side of the car (1 in front, 1 in rear) and the driver obviously in the drivers seat.
After my attempt at avoiding, the collision was the very rear of the drivers door and rear wing, and was basically a glancing blow that redirected my motorbike at quite an acute angle, yet 3 claims for whiplash appeared on my doorstep…

Lol, why didn’t he just carry straight in lane 2 rather than diving for the HS? Lol any copper would have clocked that straight away even the thick ones.

looks like he made a last minute dive for the exit

Simon Marsh, managing director of SmartWitness, which supply the cameras, said he had seen a huge surge in demand due to the on-going problems of bogus whiplash claims.

He said: ‘This is a real problem, particularly for hauliers and fleet managers who are running large numbers of vehicles and could be targeted by these fraudsters every week.

Now i wonder is that the same simon marsh that ran SMS time/temp critical ?

until it stops when in front of the truck just before it got hit by it, The driver should of the people carrier should have their licence revoked and all of them who claimed whiplash should face charges of fraud /deception, along with the ambulance chaser who advised them to claim,

any case of fraud against an insurance companyis kept in an online insurance database, so when these people try to get an insurance policy for anything this will flag up and add an extra zero to there premium, so at least some justice
