Analogue infringemnets

Handed my disc in this morning after shift to be told i had a infringement for putting in total mileage up incorrectly (never good at maths). So i just changed it on the card but as the card has been scanned into this sytem i will still recieve a infringement as it cant be changed on there system.

But surely it would not be classed as infringement with VOSA etc as i not only corrected it before handing the disc in for good but corrected it before end of shift (just not before it was scanned in and returned) Seems petty but i will have to sign for this and having none for 2 years or so i seem to be having a bad run :unamused:

It was also said i can leave total blank as it’s not a legal requirement so i pressume if it is there it has to be correct :confused:

Rant over i hate analogue’s !!!

It’s true, you don’t have to fill in the total mileage done, just the start and finished mileage, but if you do it should be correct. Either leave it blank or use a calculator to make sure, every phone has one on it. Seems a very petty infringement and I doubt VOSA would bat an eye at it so don’t worry.

Cheers Coffeeholic,

I’m not worried about VOSA i just hate the fact i will have to sign for a infringement on a card that will not have one on it when it is handed in if that makes sense, They scanned it for there records i corrected it :slight_smile:

Useful info won’t be putting any more totals in got enough hassle switching between digi and analogue each night :laughing:

If they give you any grief over not completing the total km’s box point them at page 32 of VOSA’s guide book GV-262 where it gives the following centre field requirements.

Centrefield entries
A driver is required to enter the following information on the centrefield of a tachograph chart that he is
using to record his activities:
surname and first name (the law does not stipulate which order the names are put in — but your
employer may have a policy on this);
the date and place where the use of the record sheet begins and ends. The year may be written in
full or abbreviated — so both ‘2007’ and ‘07’ are acceptable. If the start and finish places are the same, both must be written on the chart — ditto marks are not acceptable;
the registration number(s) of vehicle(s) driven (which should be entered before departing on
a new vehicle);
the time at which any change of vehicle takes place; and
the odometer readings:
— at the start of the first journey;
— at the end of the last journey; and
— at the time of any change of vehicle, recording the readings from both vehicles.
Note that the ‘total km’ field does not have to be completed.
