Asking on behalf of a mate, who hasn’t got t’internet … any-one know anything about this outfit … advertised recently on Job Centre website … based Knottingley, W. Yorks
Job is I think moving rental trucks around the country. Think it was something about “no hitch-hiking” … there is transport to get you home again … assume either take 1 truck / bring 1 back … or some-one in car / van follows you.
Says you have to be Self Employed.
Just curious as to if any-one has heard / got any info on this job . PM me if you want, I will pass on to my mate.
Not heard of them but this brings back memories of an advert I once saw for delivering new horseboxes all over UK & Ireland.
Advert read…
Driver must hold LGV Cat. C & Full motorcycle licences
Talking to an employee of firm much later on I asked why the bike licence was a requirement? His reply ’ Oh they’ve an old Suzuki DR 400 they chuck in the back of the horsebox so delivery driver can get back.’
He added ‘The driver don’t half get wrapped up in the winter - we do a lot of deliveries to Aberdeen area!!! - in the end they leave, hence job advert’.
Sorry to take the OP off-thread a bit, but could be relevant.

I don’t know the name of it but it sounds like the firm I was talking about in my thread title Out Of Scope driving. £9-50 an hr but long hours etc , is it Ged or Russ you have to contact ?
perhaps they are stretching out into other avenues
sorry had to be said
Aren’t those Expedition and Excursion Limos classed as LGV owing to the weight
Think they required a PCV to drive the largest limos, also apparently such drivers get to know the local VOSA people on first-name terms.
My fathers cousin runs a few in south west scotland and I think its definately a pcv thats needed on ones that carry over a certain number of passengers
Don’t let the name fool you, they often have tractor units /rigids parked in there ‘yard’ if you can call it that. They’ve advertised that iob a few times now over the past year so that may give you an idea what they’re like to work for…
Cheers
