ALDI NAZIS

Deesider:
I drive for Aldi at Neston RDC. Been there since they opened, nearly 3 years ago.

I’ll draw the senior managements’ notice to this post next week, I’m off for a few days at the moment.

I’ll also find out the full SP about the reasons for the parking ban on the Industrial estate around the corner, but from what I’ve heard in the past its the usual story - the few spoiling it for the majority.

  • I’m not a ■■■■, by the way, and neither are any of my KAMERADS in the Transport dept. …

:sunglasses: Malc’s link above to the Wirral News article from a few weeks ago explains why the letter/e.mail had been sent out from the RDC to the hundreds of suppliers across Europe, to be copied and passed on to the thousands of drivers who are likely to get a load to Aldi in Neston as part of their jobs, this week, next week, or some time in the future. DON’T take the letter personally !! :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s agreed though that it could have been worded slightly differently…instead of the word OFFENDERS (which makes the driver sound a bit like a criminal,IMHO) “those drivers found to be ignoring these instructions” might have been more appropriate.

As for the point made about “Aldi has no juristiction on parking on the roadways outside its property”,… yes, that is the case. If the local NIMBYs get their way then the council will be putting down yellow lines all around the area - so a bit of compromise before that happens would be best for all concerned, I think.

Regarding having to arrive before the delivery time/date (yes - it has been known for some drivers to turn up on a Saturday afternoon when the time/date on the CMR was clearly written “Monday AM” ) …well, there’s just no need.
The delivery windows at Neston are generous enough - Frozen 6-9am,Chilled 9am-Noon,Bread,Produce and Flowers Noon-3pm and Ambient 7am to noon. There’s no sodding need to turn up with an ambient load of Breakfast cereals at a quarter to five in the morning, as I witnessed myself last week !! :imp: (I was just starting my shift at the time.)

:bulb: Finally,(for now  ) can I recommend Ellesmere Port Truckstop (just off jct 8 of the M53) as a very good place to park up for the night if you’re bringing in a load for Aldi at Neston and feel that you really, really need to park as close as possible for your early morning delivery.
-LOCKED Compound, -Security guy will open up and let you out at 5.30 am or whatever, if you ask him.
-Fuel, A Bunkering tank on site- RED cards, I think and maybe one other…Keyfuels, possibly…you’ll have to check for yourself.
-Food, Cooked fresh, evening meal/breakfast to set you up for the day.
-Toilet/Shower facility in a large portacabin type block.
-Rest Room with TV, also in a large portacabin type building.
Cost…I think it’s about £8 with a receipt given. Don’t quote me on that, it’s too close to home for me to have ever stayed overnight.
…Route from there to Aldi RDC -M53 to jct5, left onto A41, quarter mile fork right at 2nd set of lights onto A550 signposted Queensferry/N.Wales.After a couple of miles, right at lights (Car showrooms on both sides, facing you) then follow the A540 to Neston (mostly dual carriageway) until you reach the Aldi sign on your left, just past yet another carsales site. :stuck_out_tongue:…Approx. 7 miles/15 mins.

*Aldi won’t let supplier’s drivers use their canteen at Neston due to previous vandalism commited a few years ago at one of the other RDC’s.

Toilet and washroom facilities are of course allowed to be used by any visiting drivers-next to bay 29 (Ambient) or bay 56(Chilled/Frozen) goods-in areas.
