Alchohol and tramping

What are the rules about having a drink in your lorry or pub when you have parked for the night, and are the rules different for being in a truckstop to parked in a layby?

If you want a drink -have a drink. Jeez - do you want to check on whether you should wipe your arse North to South or East to West??
:unamused:

Why, are you the man to ask about arse wiping?

Just getting a bit sick of people asking “what’s the rules on this?” and “what’s the rule on that?” :imp:
Ever heard of common sense? You want a drink - have one. You want to wipe East to West - use more paper  Just don’t get ■■■■■■ and don’t smear ■■■■ all over your arse-cheeks. :grimacing:

In case you overlooked the fact this is a forum, people ask questions and post pictures and answers to some questions others have asked, being an x soldier I presume, I would think you are used to repetition!!

I think you will notice I DID answer it :sunglasses:
Not ex-forces, and not an ex-cop either, just to make clear. Don’t want to claim to be what I ain’t.
No hard feelings I hope, just had a gutsfull of H&S BS today and haven’t had my beer yet…

Just cracked a can = so happy now  :sunglasses:

I personally would feel quite safe and comfortable having a couple of cans/pints (2) so long as I had a good 6 hrs between finishing my drinks and starting the next day, that is only because my place has a zero tolerance on alcohol, any trace will lead to suspension and a warning if over the drink drive limit its the sack. I would feel safe at that. Anyone who has 7/8 pints deserves to lose their licence IMO

Back in the day it was normal to get bladdered on a night out - wouldn’t dream of it nowadays though. Older and wiser, I guess :open_mouth:

They’re still in the pub yet!

There’s nowt up with a couple of pints in a pub with a nice meal before you get you’re head down for the night. Look at fuss kicked up because JD Wetherspoons are openings pub in the services on the M25 and the good and proper brigade says that drivers will be going in there getting ■■■■■■ and carry on driving :unamused:

Yep, gets my vote!

Bloke in an RDC waiting room told me that you’re ok if you’re 6 feet from the steering wheel and you don’t put the keys in the ignition.

And if that were true then camper van drivers would be just as at risk.
