Going down to Street in Zomerzet on Tuesday to deliver Wednesday.
Is the Albion TS still open, or would I be better stopping elsewhere?
There is a thread in the Overnight Parking forum, but it was last replied to in March, and the Transport Cafe website doean’t say anything, and I need to know.
I live literally 3 mins away from it, it’s still open, Its not as busy as t used to be. The other option is gravenchon way(Spelt something like that) where sainsburys and mc Donalds are on the roundabout. Go down the bottom, there JUST enough room to screw it round but you could always do a 3pt turn and park along the kerb next to lidl. Alot park there, it’s reasonably quiet apart from the odd sainsburys wagon coming out.
May give them a ring tomorrow, and see if they’re open on Tuesday, although with it being Bank Holiday, I ain’t holding out much hope, but you never know.
Where are you delivering may I ask? I may know somewhere near. Gravenchon way is a good bet, chippy is about a 15 min walk, or if your accustomed to mcdonalds that’s right there!
Ah clarks village, it’s not the Clarks on the roundabout of gravenchon way, if you stay there, come out, left at the roundabout, through one new set of lights whichll say Clarks HGV deliveries. It’s not that one!! That’s the warehouse again. Next set of lights hang a right. It’s got a traffic light camera on the other side of the road. Then about 300yrds on the left is the Clarks village delivery entrance. Opposite a road. Hope that helps.
Rang Albion today, and got no reply, but left a message asking them if they’re open to let me know. The mobile number didn’t/wouldn’t connect. Ominous?
If push comes to shove, then I may have to stop at Sedgemoor sadly.
Went into the Abion yesterday . There is a new couple running it and are very helpful . The food was very good and plenty of it and they operate a bottomless pot for tea and coffee . Have seen quite a few lorries overnighting there again so hopfully its on the up .

That is good news. I always tried to use it from the days when Steve owned it, it has had a few changes since he left, although the last time I saw him he was parking there still.
It was the headquarters of the South West Truckers
