I remember Alberti Haulage Benn, white with black signwriting. I always thought it was an unusual name for a ■■■■■■■■■■ company,in Italiano.
Sorry,no photos though.
Did Alberti Haulage get taken over by R.T. Keedwell ? Also , I am sure that the owner of Alberti died about a year ago . There was a mention on here ( or Facebook ) from a member of his family . Maybe someone can expand on this , and/or correct me .
Cheers , cattle wagon man .

Thanks for the reply, yes Alberti was taken over by Keedwell, this was after Willie Alberti ( Tom and Sheila’s son ) was tragically killed ( possibly 24 years ago now )I think he was gearing up to take the business on , Willie was a great lad . We served our time together at Carlisle College He also had a brother and sister I think .
I remember Alberti running , mostly a Volvo fleet F88, F10 and possibly a F7 ( I think the F7 was driven by a guy called Gordon Craigy) I also remember them with Scania and possibly a Merc ? White motors with black sign writing .
I have great memories of sitting in the passenger seat of F88 and F10 ,as a young lad , heading to a paper mill in Aberdeen with waste cardboard, and pulling out of British Gypsum in Kirbythore with loads of plaster board .
Great memories and great people
I’ve searched for some photos but have been unable to locate any , if anyone has any I would appreciate them .
We are talking a bit back now , I remember the driver filling log books in and then the start of the tachograph ■■?
Other drivers names I remember were Keith Ballantyne, Danny Harris, Geordie Watson , Gordon was the mechanic. This was back when Taits (Volvo) were at Newtown industrial estate .
Thanks again .
