Well at one time this was one of the busiest docks in the country, not done any collections from here for years, I now know why, it is virtually derelict. Such a shame to see a dock go like this. This was my favourite dock in Hull at one time.
Go in there to Cranswick Foods, only see the research ship and a ship picking up bales of something.

Yes they bought the old fish market building, those rubbish bales get dumped at sea, I find it disgraceful to do that.

If its rubbish then its ok, plenty of food for the fish seeing as we throw out so much food.

Think there are a few marine engineering firms on there still - I only ever go in for Cranswick and usually at daft o clock so never see much activity.
It’s like many docks and ports in this country - run down and neglected.

Yeah you need permission from Parliament to shut a dock down and it is rarely given so they simply run them down. Dunstons looked busy, just all looks from a Victorian era then Cranswick has a modern building in the middle of it.
Newport dock will soon have the new M4 running thru it.

It is only for testing and comparison, to be honest it isn’t too bad. Not a patch on CoPilot but it does a basic job if you only go from A to B.
I have a complaint or 2 about the new copilot, u cant browse map and select a place, and the traffic bar is crap, why doesnt it show each delay time? All they did is show the miles to the traffic problem.

I am doing some videos showing how you can do what you want to do, you can edit all of the map and create your own routes but this is the problem with CoPilot. To utilise its features you do have to spend time learning it. There are not that many resources to learn the advanced features. I like the TomTom traffic better though for its simplicity.

Copilot has never got me into a problem, I just miss the browse map function. I google my destination then usually use browse map on coplilot to pick a spot.

I have had 3 problems with the TomTom in as many weeks, I have never had a problem yet with CoPilot either.

Copilot does have another bug? Up and over junctions, and mine always wants to go over the old severn bridge not the newish one

Sad but could be a good thing.
Look how much development in Saint Andrews Quay since the fish docks got closed.
Would like some photos of King George Dock if you have the time. Thanks
Some one put pictures on the Internet of the Lord line building. Even in its dilapidated state it’s still a brilliant building. It must have been magnificent in it’s heyday.
If you ever get the chance, search them out.
I liked this one. The days when Hull had a decent sized fishing fleet.

Lord Line building is a listed building, I think Marr shipping was the last to use it before they moved to livingston Road. What a cracking building it is, even the old smoke houses are now derelict, should have turned them into a museum.
I don’t know…
This particular dock but, surely all the work that was done here has simply moved to Felix, Southampton and London Gateway etc?
As opposed to fifty men slinging, hooking and skiving, one 40 footer being lifted on and off does the job.
It’s not like the population has got smaller.

This was Hull fish docks, in its hey day it was one if not the busiest port in the UK, this was during my lifetime too. The fishing industry in Hull is in virtual collapse, most fish is now landed in Grimsby, not a fraction of what it was though. Hull only has a few trawlers and because of the size of vessels allowed any port can accommodate a trawler. A lot of our fish is landed in Norway, Sweden etc, whoever pays the best price is where it gets landed. It is a shame to see the demise of a port as it reflects on the local economy. I was in Immingham last week and that too is only a shadow of its former glory.
