I’m about six weeks late in paying a personal tribute to Alan Gilzean who sadly passed away on 8th July. I only learned of his passing while watching MOTD and there was a minutes tribute to him before the Spurs game. Alan was the transport manager at Leggett Freightways in Chingford when I was working there as a night trunk driver in the early '80s, a wonderful man who, although manager, was always on the same level as his staff and drivers, always spoke to you and never down to you. Managers like Alan Gilzean are rare in any walk of life today, I remember him fondly. RIP.
Hi mate,
Much respect to Alan Gilzean r.i.p from a hammer.
As an aside Alan came to work as transport manager for Geo.Davies’s at Brentwood while I was there in the early 80’s I say work he only lasted a week before he jacked in and as I was away all week I never got to meet him, lol.
Cheers steve.
