Yeah there are a lot like that…but not all mate, trust me.
Because on the other hand some ‘‘single Mums’’ just find themselves in that way after an unsuccesful relationship that they have walked away from, or even been abandoned.with kids.
They COULD quite easily sit on their lazy arse all day and get their rent paid, and kids subsidised for a much easier life than working.
OR…
Instead actively CHOOSE to do the near hand impossible task of juggling a job with school times and having 2 young kids…say aged 5 &7 for example?..
And hey!
Both of the same Dad ..ex relationship.
The job could also be a very stressful one like say,.I dunno… caring for people who need supervision…like Down’s syndrome people, and those with learning difficulties …so not just stressful but also honourable and a worthwhile job that not just anybody could do…me especially.
In between all this she could get every slime ball with your opinions Tobes, hitting on her everyday looking for a ‘‘bit on the side’’ because they subscribe to all the stereotypical bull ■■■■ that you have just spouted mate.
But if she has anything about her, she will just fend them off…maybe get her Dad to '‘have a word’'with the odd ‘‘persistent one’’ to 'mark his card’so as to speak.
So life for single Mums could (and sometimes is) as you mention Toby, …a life of chainsmoking,.shagging and scrounging off the state.
Or NOT so much if one of these ‘single Mums’ had a bit of pride about them.and tried her best to live a decent life and pay her way…
So yeah …a lot of single Mums are as rough as a bear’s arse, no morals and leaving kids left to fend for themselves…
Where as others are NOT…just like one of my daughters of whom I have just described at first, and who I am very proud of,.and who just reluctantly puts up with been constantly JUDGED in the same way you describe Tobes when she tells people (with her head held high) that she is a single Mum.
(Sorry to bring the mood down, I know it’s a light hearted thread, but this stuff has a habit of annoying the ■■■■ out of me,…and as ever I feel the need to stick up for my own.)

Take no notice of me I can take a joke but I just get (even) less tolerant of stuff as I get older that presses my buttons especially if it concerrms stuff about my family…which you werent to know.
