Just been asked if I would take ADR packages on 16th april, now i done them in the distant past I seam to remember it was a 3and a bit days course is it still the same ie bit of first aid,put a tray thats on fire out (squrt a bit of foam) then do the exam papers in pensil !! or have things got a bit more professional

Yes mate, Core, Packs and seven UN Classes is still 3.5 days including the the time needed to take the exams.
The requirement for you you do a CPR demonstration has ended.
No more fire-extinguisher practice on real fires now. (Elf and Safety 
)
You’re now allowed to use a black biro to do the exams. 
so no being Vinny Jones then?
and no playing with fire extingulsher’s in the carpark covering the cars in foam
