Jumping an old topic but if I am on ■■■■■■ tomorrow (unsure yet as I’m unaware of un no’s/ or packing groups) is it generally quicker to wait for enough vehicles to begin the ■■■■■■, or go the long way round M25? (Travelling Tonbridge to Manchester)
Hi Alfa1M,
The answer to your question is… I’m not sure.
I’d guess that it would be quicker (and use less driving time and diesel) to wait in the queue.
The horse’s mouth answer is best got from a phone call to the tunnel authorities once you know what you’re carrying, how much of it there is and how it’s packaged.

From Tonbridge I’d go anitclockwise and up the m40 mileage wise is more less the same.
But if you decide to.use the tunnel as soon as you get anyware near head to lane 3 and stay there and use the right hand tunnel as it moves quicker than left hand one

But not if he’s being escorted!
I forgot that bit lol.
But serious Friday avoid dartford. Go other way. And if you check it’s 3 miles shorter Manchester to tonbridge
If you google Dartford Tunnel and go on their website they have a list of the stuff permitted and what actions are needed .
I used to have the link but since I stopped driving commercials I have deleted it .
Those on the control are usually very helpful and especially if you have something unusual.
